Actually, it was Anakin who deactivated the Droid Army, not the Separatist Council. As we saw in Episode 3, when Anakin told Palpatine that the Council has been executed, Palpatine told Anakin to "Send a message to the ships of the Trade Federation. All droid units must shut down immediately.". Not trying to attack anyone. I'm just pointing that fact out.

I love how Tactical droids are extremely good with logical tactics and can make a perfect counter. It was just because of the jedi implementing unorthodox tactics that made them "dumb" in comparison to their superior counterpart the Super Tactical droid. This is why I always love the Battle Droids. They are very effective and when they are destroyed, they can just get rebuilt. Unlike the organic troopers that take years to grow and will get decomissioned if they are too injured to contiue fighting. Not to mention that the peoples of the Confederacy never actually have to fight by themselves unless they wanted to. My point is that the civilians of the Confederacy will have a choice whether they wanted to fight or not in this war alongside with the Battle Droids.

Considering that tactical droids fought a combination of Jedi who were super powered monks and the Grand army who were made up of hyper competent super soldiers that later galactic armies have never been able to replicate in success and sheer skill and they gave as much as they got killing multiple jedi. If there was a tactical droid with a substantial army at its command will fuck up the storm troopers and imperial army who do not have the Jedi leading them, because droid wave attacks are near impossible to stop with how stormtroopers were designed not as a mainstay of an army but elite troops wearing much lighter armour than clone troopers and the imperial army would collapse really Quickly

It kinda makes sense no matter what path the empire would take. Empire war doctrine was building upon and modifying the republic era one, so the core concepts are still there. Even this outdated data would be devastating to enlisted and cloned imperial troops alike.

The empire could have used the scrap from the droids to make the Death Star. It would have taken a lot of metal and nobody would miss the droids. They would be a source of metal that the empire did not have to buy and there would be no paper trail on where the metal for the Death Star came from, a little bit of extra security.

In legends a group of clone commandos mistook the order 66 transmission for a trick sent by the CIS to put them at a disadvantage, the shut down order could have been recieved similarly by kalani. Alternatively, his base's reciever antenna could have malfunctioned resulting in him not receiving the order or he simply resisted it like certain clones did, super tactical droids are the only droids to have names that aren't just serial numbers, implying that they are more independent than any other type of droid.

Personally, I would love to see an alternate timeline where the separatists fight the empire in a full scale conflict. Kind of like small pockets of CIS began to regroup and strike the empire after some time of its reign. And with more emphasis on the tactical droids themselves. Just something I would find fun to see.

I always wanted to see the CIS (or what was left of it) and Rebel Alliance work together (which they did to some extent). Separatist battle droids that still remained and Rebel troopers fighting alongside each other would of been really cool to see. I never really understood why the Rebels never captured a Droid factory and put it to use.

@@porthokandenizen I imagine it's because of the fact that if they were to capture and reactivate a Droid factory, they would need some way to defend it from orbit. The moment the Imperials catch wind of that, they'll be sending in their Star Destroyers to bomb the place back to the Stone Age. The Droids may give the Rebels an edge in ground battles, but they would need a strong enough Navy to hold the droid factories if they didn't want to lose it to Imperials who didn't care about capturing it and would blast it from orbit. And even if they had a factory that could produce Droid Starfighters, they'd still need a capital ship to launch from and exchange blows with the Imperial ships. The Rebel Navy was good, but they weren't in a position to go head-to-head with the full force of an Imperial Fleet

@@Lazarultos I assume they could of rebuilt the Separatist Droid Army even with Imperials snooping around with time and effort, the latter being something they had a lot of. The Droid factories could of definitely been disguised from any Imperials or Imperial Sympathizers, I can't imagine it would of been that difficult. Also, the Rebels had a ton of capital ships they could of monitored and controlled the droids from and fought Imperial ships with, even then though I highly doubt capital ships would be needed for the droids as they were most likely newer models and not the older pre-clone wars ones that required capital ships to operate. The only use I can see capital ships having relating to the droids are launching them from it like you said. Rebel fighters rarely ever got into battles where they just exchanged blows until one or the other was destroyed, they usually used hit and run tactics which droid starfighters would of been very helpful with. I feel like the CIS and it's Droid Army could of been brought back to it's former glory with dedication.

@@porthokandenizen You make good points there! It'd still be a huge effort to get it rolling, but there'd be an equally huge payoff. Although, I think it was mentioned in the Legends stories that a big reason why they didn't want to commit resources to reactivate the Droid army was because doing so would be a PR nightmare for the Rebellion. The Empire was already branding them as terrorists and extremists. Making moves to restart the Droid Army would've made the Rebellion look like Separatists 2.0, which a big chunk of the Galaxy hated both due to Imperial propaganda and being victims of the many war-crimes perpetrated by an un-feeling Droid Army controlled by Corporate Sponsors. The Rebellion was at a crossroads between going the purely practical "War of Attrition" route through the Droids or the "Hearts and Minds" route through making the galaxy WANT freedom, and they went with the latter.

@@Lazarultos Yeah, you're right. Trying to revive the Droid Army would of been met with conflicted views from the galaxy. If it wasn't for the extreme anti-separatist propaganda the Empire had been spreading I think the Droid Army could of had a chance at being brought back, at least in some capacity. Unfortunately, we never got to see any "what ifs" or something like that for Star Wars as restarting the Droid Army and using it against the Empire would of been one of the coolest ideas for it. At the very least, we got a few droids that survived the clone wars and had joined the Rebellion in some of the comics.

Ig units alone where able to get aboard the death star and almost use it in legends. Tactical droids could pretty much remember every mistake and fix it. Super tactical droids where pretty much thrawn level droids capable of sentience quicker then most.

Oh cool, that new Droid Proto-type from the OG Battlefront 2 game. I always wondered what that would have been like if it got made. Also, I think I heard that some pro-Republic worlds that had fought in the Clone Wars actually used some of the leftover Battle Droids to fight when the Empire started subjugating them, usually immediately after Order 66 in some cases. I think that was the case when the Empire attacked Kashyeeek in 19 BBY to get those Jedi, I believe the Wookies, with how smart they were used some of the leftover Separatist hardware from the Battle of Kashyeeek.

It's explained in other videos that the transition from republic to empire happened way before the end of the clone wars, so I asume Palpatine must have already set a plan in motion to get rid of all the military surplus of the confederation. The senate must have issued a law that facilitated the dismantling of most of the battledroids that remained.

Imperial Droids that was Clone Wars vets... Wonder if they had to obey same rules as Stormtroopers... Was it awkward I wonder getting a B1 or Be to fit into Stormtrooper armor?? The Rebel Alliance shoulda gone after these factories to get instant programmable armies to bolster their ranks till their organic numbers matched with their Imperial enemies. They could have turned the tables ive always said an thought alot sooner and suffered alot less. Think Hoth for example would a been so incredibly bad for them had a Rebel Co pushed a button an several hundred thousand droidekas, B1s an B2 an bunch of Droid tanks rushed out to attack oncoming Imperial forces?
