There is a better way to get that message across to the woman who refused to abort you, and surely denied herself for you on some great level. You could carefully have taken the occasion to speak on how you are raising or plan to raise your children and why you do such so that they won't become such and such. And you could mention the specific strait in yourself that she would be convicted concerning, knowing she has had a weak appreciation for the value and need for these things to have been done back at that time and hopefully won't pass on to your kids as the grand mother. She will never know if you intentionally brought that up to convict her conscience. Prayerfully, God could certainly use something that easy to change her entire perception of EVERYTHING she did as a parent, that she may humbly repent and grow and mature. But if you lack tact, maturity or diplomacy in your conveying of the potentially stabilizing message that she may desperately need to hear, then yes you are also in the wrong and not helping God, her, your kid, yourself or anyone by just blurring that out without tact and humility.

I can't stand how some people these days are offended by the phrase "color blind". No one is saying color isn't noticed. Most people have eyeballs. I have been thinking the same thing. Of course I “see” color, I see it in everything not just people because I have eyes to see lol. So I see that someone is a particular color but it’s not the criteria I use for how I perceive them as person’s or to judge their character. It’s so dishonest to say that if I would like a culture where no one uses skin color to determine who to respect or treat well that it somehow is a way to be racist on the dl. But some of the people pushing these ideas the hardest are going to say it about you no matter how you act, no matter what you think or say.

Just look at the Asian culture in the USA, they are the most successful culture in the entire country and not because of racism. How often do you read about Asian violence or Asian on Asian crime. It's a culture of keeping families together and being very respectful of others and it puts them on a path to success. I rarely see Asian blue-collar workers. The US needs an influx of Asian people to help turn the tide of racism and disrespectful cultures. Look at Japan, their worst cities are 10 times better than our best cities.

I had a problem with a black family once, their children took my taxes out of my mailbox. I called the post office with a complaint. Was that family going to pay any fees for my taxes being late? The post office didn't say, but I'd never seen the children's parents. I guess the post office contacted them because a few days later a big tall woman (maybe 6 ft.) came charging down the sidewalk yelling at me. I'm 5'3" tall, so all I could think of was here it goes. When she stopped yelling to take a breath I explained what her children had taken and saw a small crack in her in attitude. I explained that taking people's mail was against the law and thanks to her children I may have to pay late fee on top of what I had written a check for. She told me she didn't know what her children had taken and stomped off. I few minutes later she came back and handed me shredded tax forms along with a torn up check. My opinion is she didn't really supervise her children well enough and she just had to look at what she handed me to know what it was. That kind of attitude toward someone is a form basic intimidation and I've seen it more than a few times from black people I have known.

His argument was that it was irresponsible (or worse) of White Liberals to promote Gangster Rap, crime & violence as being the only way that a black young person could articulate an “authentic Black Culture”. It was by supporting these genres in Music and Movies in his opinion that harmed blacks so severely because they cheered Black Youths off of a proverbial cliff by promoting these stereotypes.

When small numbers of immigrants came to this country, they assimilated quickly into their new societies. When Large groups of one or another ethnic background came they banded together in pockets of areas in large cities. Irish, Italians, Eastern European Jews, etc. When that happens the group does NOT assimilate and the differing cultures caused many clashes and negative rules or laws against said group to be passed. Hence the Irish need not apply attitude and signs in the American Northeast. Many groups turned to crime and fought each other. The Irish and Italian mobs. Many areas today in the United States suffer from this same problems of immigrants not assimilating into American society. The Roman Empire fell due to many reason, one being multi culturalism that could not and would not give up their own cultures and assimilate. it even happens among Americans as they move to different states. As the South has grown stronger many people from the North have moved to the South and they bring their values and beliefs with them causing issues between them and their new neighbors. I was stationed in Germany for 3 years. My Grandmother gave me the advice, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. I took a year of German before deploying and I showed respect for the German culture and it's people. I got along with them very well while other Americans who expected the Germans to adapt to them did not. Multiculturalism when held on to too strongly causing problem. It does NOT make us stronger. The Proof is in the History. Cherishing parts of the culture you come from is fine, but you keep that to you. It's not about color. It's about values and beliefs. Sometimes they just don't mix.

Jamel, do a dive on american history as it pertains to immigration. There have been times when the immigration was turned on, then off, as it was believed that you must have a period of time to let the new migrants assimilate To american cultural and practices. Thus helping them find their way in the society. As the past 50 years of migration has bent to the will of business, tolerance of illegal immigration, you have swaths of populations that neither want to or care about assimillating . You here it every day, maintaining our (fill in the nation or culture) way of life. Simple question; why did you come to america if you dont want to become an american. It would never occur to me to move to italy, spain, britian, brazil, ghana, thailand and insist they change to meet my american mores. Politicians and big business care about votes and bodies to fill spots as they see it, not to improve the lives of the citizens and strength of the union in america.

It’s probably not just culture, but trauma. Anyone who’s grown up with trauma with no way to process (being slaves and then freed from slavery with little resources or help on how to live independently) is going to have emotional trouble of some sort and will act out. It’s not a wide-sweeping explanation, but maybe that’s how the culture of violence and broken families started, or I should say, continued, from the legacy of slavery (not allowed to be formally married, children sold, being beaten …)

Every immigrant group has faced discrimination, segregation, limitations in work and residence. The melting pot was more of a cluster of small pans scattered about. I think "liberals", not the dirty word it's often portrayed to be today, were always trying to improve things for everyone. They have had a lot of ideas and some have worked well, while others were failures and some just merely made the situations prolonged. Conservatives have always had to be dragged, kicking and screaming, along the road of progress. Political party affiliations came and went, but the bottom line none of them seem to get is that there's no cookie cutter remedy for all society's ills. The clowns in government now couldn't agree on a bipartisan lunch menu, let alone any real legislation that helps people. We have leaders who push military projects in their home districts, pork we used to call it, to keep some folks employed and give them braggin rights, but the military doesn't want or need those ships or planes or whatever. Are we really shocked those who thrive on an electorate's ignorance want to keep them ignorant? Look at Sen John Kennedy (R-LA) as an example....born in MS, graduated from Vanderbilt, then Univ of VA Law School, then Oxford. He was a Democrat with a slight, southern drawl, until 2007. Since then he's gone full hickhillbilly in his speech and spews what he knows is completely untrue. But in LA they buy it. Again and Again.

I really hate to see people sucked down the conservative rabbit hole by eloquent conservatives, without listening to any counterpoint for fact checking. The reality is that a side-by-side comparison of liberalism vs conservatism over the past 50 years including until today will show that conservative policies and laws have done and continue to do far greater damage to people of color. Not only that, although not all conservatives are like this, there is only one side that has neo-Nazis as members -- and it's not liberals. Just think about that. What must conservatives be doing that they get the seal of approval from neo-Nazis? All that glitters is not gold. Thomas Sowell and other eloquent talkers can twist the narrative to make anything sound good. The basic test is, if they supported and voted for trump, their ideology is suspect. Period.

I find it odd that KZbinrs are reacting to the Republicans v Democrats of the 30’s and that time frame. They never look at current policies or laws passed by either… tbs it’s been quite a long time since republicans have pass or worked to pass any civil rights bills or laws. There more about taking away rights these days…

Problems were caused by culture then and it's the same problem now.
