The Ranger is a lovely watch on the wrist. Got it on the nato strap. Colours work well. It’s a very discreet luxury piece. I’m happy with it. 👍

I would have loved it if it didn't have the greenish/yellow tint on the markers. Quick release straps would have been great for a tool type watch

Personally I would have preferred a polished bezel and white numbers/letters. Basically a Rolex explorer lol. In all seriousness, this is decent value for a basic watch. I don't get the hype though!

The domed glass, for a tool watch, makes me hesitate. I think with rugged movements, I'd break it in a jiffy. After five years, my North Flag is quite banged-up as I've hit it many times on hard surfaces such as walls and even door handles. The extremely hard black ceramic part of the bezel has been able to save it so far, as the top stainless steel part exhibits deep impact cuts already. I think that a tool watch must have a flat, or even recessed glass like dive watches, to protect its face.

I have the previous model and I love that one. I haven’t seen the new one in person yet but I found that, for what ever reason, it looks far better in your video than in any other video that I’ve seen. I hear people complaining about the color of the markers. But in your video they look quite nice??? I guess I must see it in the flesh before I can truly render a verdict. Cheers.

I like this watch, but I prefer the Pro at the moment. I just need to see it at the AD before I make up my mind. I do feel that living in the UK, a GMT movement is really useful so I don't think I'll be lusting after the Ranger.

It's refreshing when somebody says this is a compact size when all I seem to hear is moaning it's not 36 or 34mm. 39 is a great compact size for my wrist, but I am above average in height. While I think an option in 36 would be great, I'm fine as it stands and at least those of us lamenting the loss of the Explorer 39 have some kind of option. The colour of the markers I can't quite tell if I like though. It looks so different in lighting - yellow, slightly green, or tan. How great would it have been if the ceramic lume from the BB Pro with some height was used for the markers and numerals. That would have been brilliant. That one nod to modernity while still being true to the original design. I need to see this one at my local AD to make a final judgment. I can't really get over how much value is there in that price though. It's basically the same as the old Ranger, but has more to offer.

In a world where the average wrist size is 7.25" (18.4cm) - also the size of my wrist - per The Slender Wrist survey, I don't think 39 looks like a dinner plate. Heck, 20% of men are reported to have wrists bigger than 7.75" (19.67cm), which would make 39 look downright small.

I think this new Ranger is a nice watch - and absolutely unbeatable at the price. Some people seem to be saying it's "boring", or whatever, but I think they are forgetting that it's meant to be a damned field watch! Anything other than a fairly minimalistic tool-watch aesthetic would be plain wrong, in my opinion. And if something at this price point tries to be "fancy" or "swish" there is a danger it can quickly start to look cheesy and faux-expensive - which is the very worst kind of taste! Something this (relatively) cheap should look basic and functional, IMO. (The only obvious downside I can see is for those folks north of the border who support Celtic. For those unhappy souls it must be bitter indeed to have a watch whose name reminds them of the superior team whenever they look at the time.:-P)

Everyone is saying how it should have applied markers and how it would look so much better but people..it don’t! It’s just a simple watch. All brushed and no polish. Nothing fancy. Rugged and won’t show scratches too much. It is what it is! Simple and ready to take a beating as an everyday wear. The toughness is in the name. And you know what… I think I might get one 🤔

Tudor doesn’t sell them independently. You’d have to buy them second hand, and usually over priced. There are many excellent watch strap brands out there that are top quality at a very reasonable price.

Great looking watch love the look, but wish Tudor would improve their dial faces on all watches, this watch would of looked great with applied markers and numbers, really no need for full lume , even an applied logo would be great on all tudors

id put money that its actually a 200m water resistance watch. it uses the black bay case and has a screw down crown. they under rate it because its a lower price point than the black bay so the specs have to be less.

Why do brands do the fautina is beyond me. Like what's the point other than cheapening the watch? This Ranger looks like something San Martin would come up with as an homage. Also, I'd bet Rolex disc. the 39mm explorer to boost the sales of the Ranger. Would've liked the snowflake hour hand and the Tudor rose. As for everything else for me is spot on - the case is great and clasp and bracelet hopefully will make it to other lines.

I'm a huge Tudor fan and have three in my collection. Case size, movement and T-Fit clasp all superb. Yet, the overly faux patina and bland printed dial are my biggest disappointments. I know it's designed to be a proper tool-like watch, but applied or 3D (Pro) markers would better enhance its price point and perhaps better compete with the Rolex Explorer's tool-like yet inherent quality. I guess that's why Tudor has released this new iteration to fill in the gap they had in the field-style segment?

Yep, I wanted to love it and nearly pulled the trigger, but it does look better in pictures than on the wrist (for me). The yellow patina on the numerals is too much and I wished they had left the 12 off and added “Chronometer” under “Ranger” to give the dial less of a cheap look. I suggest people try it on.

I personally would of liked them to re-release the north-flag in 41mm having a 21mm wrist I prefer my watches 40/42mm , I do have a one 39mm but it's a dress watch that rarely gets worn as I rarely dress up 😂 so was really disappointed with this release but it still looks ok 👍

Didn’t like it at all…went to have a look at one out of curiosity and ended up buying it. Compared it with the Pro and bb58, the Ranger has probably the best bracelet/ Clasp combo along with the Pelagos. Shares same case with the BB58. Dial reminds me of my old Panerai’s, it’s a nice watch and fits into my Rolex and VC collection.

I tried on the bracelet version last Saturday and it’s nice but it is a poor man’s Explorer. In fact it’s quite clear what Rolex are doing with Tudor now especially in the last year. They are making budget retro homage version’s of their most popular watches. Ranger is the Explorer BB Pro is a fat Explorer 2 the BB GMT is the Pepsi and root beer and so on. If this doesn’t bother you then that’s fine. I personally couldn’t give a toss and who’s the fool ? Tudor wearing watch fan’s use their watches and don’t suck up to AD’s or play the silly games involved with buying a Rolex. The Ranger is a very basic tool watch and I’m sure the case and case back is from the 58🤔 I could be wrong. The bracelet is Tudor’s best by a mile although I actually like the one on my blue 58. The clean dial is nice and the aged lume suits the watch. Could be a hit 🤔

I like the empty space, I feel watch manufacturers are scared of this sometimes so fill the face with text. Tudor are being spot on for a tool watch, still most people will just wear it to the office and around the house 🙂

Thats a super bland and unimpressive dial. The font is goofy, the hand shapes are odd, and the red tip of the seconds hand is not a good way to add some color. And thats coming from a guy that wears a Nomos daily so I like minimalism done right btw
