The sign of a true farmer is when you can see a project in your mind. And then build it with your hands from what you can find in the barn. Well done. But I still don’t understand why you call it a turkey tractor. To me it looks more like a roosting wagon.

Suggestion lower one side of boards holding roof for water to run off and snow to slide off. Retired contractor gives 2 thumbs up. Good job. FYI diagonal wood braces will stabilize roof.

Cool project. You two work well as a team. When you get some more wood, consider adding a diagonal brace from vertical post to roof and some cross-bracing between the vertical posts.

Consider lag screwing some knee braces from your uprights to the roof for better secure it. Also some old paper mill canvas or a dark tarp on the side facing the afternoon sum for additional shade.

Great looking roost. Another thing you may like to consider is a way to anchor the whole roost to the ground. Another You Tube Channel has an enclosed mobile chicken pen on a wagon similar to yours and it ended up being blown over in a severe storm about a year ago. Winds were pretty high but your open roof there might make that like a parachute in high winds. Maybe ground anchors with cables tied to the corners of the roof.

You *might* want to add some front-to-back bracing on the roof-support legs, to prevent a force from the front or the back from just pivoting those legs backwards around the lag bolts and dropping the whole roof onto the roost. :) Looks pretty darn good to me, and will be nice and portable!

That’s and good idea and use what you have. What happened to the pond clean up that you were talking about at the tractor show. You still have a plan that will clean up all the duck weed. What the update on the new cow didn’t see her on the other video when you were feeding everybody. Do you still have enough hay if you have a bad winter? Keep the videos coming know it’s hard when you have two jobs
