Topic ideas are the Frankish queen Brunhilde, the breakup of Francia, Lombard Italy and the Slavic migrations to Eastern Europe. But I'll be happy to watch anything you do :)

I'm Central Asian Turkmen. I went to a boarding school run by Anatolian Turks. When I asked my Turkish teacher if we were cousin nations, he said "No, we are literally one nation, separated by the Iron Curtain for a generation". This makes our relationship with the Anatolian Turks, and other Middle Eastern Turkmen, much closer. We are not just one of the Turkic nations, like the Kazakhs or Kyrgyz. Historically speaking, until very recently, all the Oghuz Turks were called Turkmen. I have met people from these countries. From Turkmenistan, to Iraq, Syria, Azerbaijan, and Turkiye, there is a linguistic and cultural continuum. I can't begin to explain the warm and brotherly feeling I got when I met them for the first time, and realized our dialects are for about 70% mutually intelligible, and that rises up to 95% after listening to each speak for few hours. I get emotional just talking about it 😅 Thank you for making this 🙏 Much love from the Netherlands

Actually, the Byzantines and Armenias had prior knowledge of the Turks when they were still known as the "Western Göktürk Empire". They had good relations with the Byzantines, and were allied with them against the Persians. So the Byzantines knew much about the Turks, and their ways, and probably so did the Armenians.

@OljeiKhan
@OljeiKhan 5 жыл бұрын
@@bigsmoke1787 it did actually happen , the Sassanids were blockading the Eastern Romans from the Silk Road trade and the Gokturks would open a new route through Central Asia and Crimea. This act of securing the passage of trade from China to Crimea allowed the Byzantines to be capable of waging war on the Sassanids. If not for this trade route they would crumble under the blockade. Gokturk armies would also help the Eastern Romans against the Sassanids in the Caucasus region. The Gokturks would also capture the region known as "Transoxiana" during these events.

1-)The military success of the Turks was so high that they managed to establish 11 states in Iran.(920 years) 2-)India was dominated by Turkic states for 1000 years.(Mughal,Delhi,Hepthalites,Ghazne) 3-)They managed to establish seven states in Europe. As a Tatar, maybe I may not look at the objective, but I say that military service is our job.

2) Not exactly true. We are only talking about northern India here. And this is bound to trigger some folks... but by no means is India dominated if the rest of India had being un-breachable from the north. When you talk about domination, do you mean mostly culture, military positions, governance or men of arms? For example, let's say that a Turkic state had controlled a patch of Northern India for about 100 years or more. The same former empire used to have contentious wars with their neighbouring kingdoms to the south. Then wouldn't you say that by then, even the majority of natives will define themselves as being a citizen of that dynasty? So when they fight and make incursions down south, would that be a Turkic military endeavour or 'Indian'? Truth of the matter is when analysing past history through modern lens, we add inaccurate unnecessary labels and assumptions about the past.

@@hannibalbarca2928 I am sorry to say that your entire comment was a waste of time to read. I ask a few questions about the actual impact of native and turkic culture in northern India, among other things. I also questioned your claim that it dominated India for 1000 years if most of the history many independent Hindu kingdoms survived and thrived in the plateau and in the tip of India. I also merely mentioned the powerful impact that the vice-versa of culture had on the rulers and Turks coming into India and the overall contributions of natives to a new dynasty after the centuries of initial rule. Though I presume it must be nice to have black and white cookie cutter analysis from an armchair general like yourself. Where entire regions simply become coloured one dye after a few selective factors. And you proceed to rant about the Spanish language, colonial Brazil (which was composed of African, Japanese, Italian etc culture which exactly proved my point ironically about Brazil not being a Portuguese culture genius) and sex slaves. The only disingenuous one here is you buddy. Unless you're interested in a discussion, I have no need to waste further time on you. I must have hit a nerve to illicit such a vile unwarranted response. Maybe because a matter of fact is, your cultures have always had to rely on more advanced cultures to elevate your own culture to a higher cultural point of development, which is almost always one direction. Hell, if you're proud of your culture's achievements at being good at killing people and stealing people's ideas, more power to you. You must also can't stand the fact, that the country continue to run itself through the expertise of the natives, with nothing more than a regime change and a new parasitic class needing welfare to stay on top, as was the case for many nomadic conquerors. At least the Brits and Romans brought ideas to the table.

‘’The History’’ was written by the Largest Empires such as British, Mongol, Great Selcuq, Ottoman, Russia, Spanish, Ummayad, GokTurk Khaganate, Khazar Khaganate, Roman, Timurid etc. They had built the world map, while others were living under their rules. Possible ways of measuring their size include area, population, economy, and power. They had consistent power and strategy to spread across the Continents and huge areas and build a system to manage countries and its people. There are many nationalities, unfortunately, who had been disappeared as a result of the war. They are those, who resisted without having compatible capability and resources. BCE (Before the Common Era) etc that people share today, are Purely Myth and subjective views of some individuals. Last 1000 years still may have more relevant and accurate information, which still being interpreted by people. However, sounds like only Turkish Empires/ Dynasty has left huge Turkish countries who is in current world map. They are Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan.

Back then you had so many different clans with similar life style who sometimes spoke different languages but had same religious (tengrism) For example Mongol was just a sub tribe but because the ruling class were them that is why the Mongol empire was named after them similar to how Gokturk was named after the blue Turks or the Ashina clan even tho the majority of the army was Tiele people Even Prophet Muhammed peace be upon him when talking about nomads or people from Siberia and north Asia he called them Atrak or Turks

The strength of the this steppe nomads is not in their horse archery. It's in their nomadic lifestyle. This nomads travel in caravan, with their families and livestock in tow. They are essentially a self-sustain army which help contribute to their impressive display of mobility. They are also used to live a frugal lifestyle, so they can go a long way with very little. Compare this to the settled people. Their army need a long and vulnerable supply line and a substantial amount of creature comfort just to keep their moral.

Anatolia is full of 6000 years of archaeological - historical - scientific and linguistic evidence belonging to the Sumerians, who were proven to be of Turk origin 100 years ago, but do you call this historiography and my history? 1016 huh! We are the indigenous race of Asia and we do not have the African gene in our Y DNA, nor did we spread to the world through Africa!!! We now have 40,000 years of genetically proven history. geneticist doctor Spencer Wells, dated 2005. Middle Eastern tribes do not come from the same origin as Africans, but they lived together for a long time and mixed with each other. The entire humanity of the world consists of the people belonging to these 3 races and the mingling of the tribes belonging to these 3 races. Jews and Palestinians are both middle eastern races but they are not like us! we don't kill our blood brothers who are aware of who they are, but they kill and murder without even looking at the tears in their eyes!!! Video contains errors and Superficiality. In philosophy, what is built on a false introduction gives a false result. - Building that era on climate change. - To spread a certain culture to all Turkish peoples. There are Turkish kingdoms and empires that appeared before the Seljuk Empire for hundreds of years. At that time there were Islamic Turkish kingdoms, namely the Ghaznavid Empire and the Karakhanid Kingdom since the 9th, 10th and AD centuries. Prince Seljuq broke away from the ruler of the Oguz in Central Asia because of internal conflict and went to the Samanid state. The Samanid state relied heavily on the Turkish element and tried to expand in the Turkic country. The Seljuks maintained allegiance to the Samanid until the last moment. After the collapse of the Samanid state, the Seljuks went to Khorasan. The Ghaznavids had a major goal of controlling India, which was rich in its wealth, an extension of the Kushan and the White Huns, and did not care about the Khorasan. This helped the Seljuks and gave them legitimacy to control the Orient There were problems in the Middle East: the conflicts of the Buyid state that were not mentioned in the video, the struggle for succession between the Abbasid and Fatimid branches, the expansion of the military Byzantines. This environment created an environment and legitimacy for the expansion of the Seljuks to the west and the achievement of several objectives, stopping the Byzantines and maintaining the Abbasid caliphate and reshaping the Islamic world. This is true. There were problems with the tribes, but there was a state and a Sultan subject to it and dealing with problems. If the conflict was political and religious. The second mistake is the socialization of all Turkish peoples. Firstly, nomads is a common culture among all the peoples of the world. It is subject to geographic and economic data, not a defect. History books have mentioned several peoples of nomadic origins who have made civilizations. Turkish people pride themselves on their cultural diversity and roots. Second, not all Turkish people were nomads. All elements of urban life were found by the Turks more than 2,000 years ago. You mentioned the karakhanid and they were stable people and people of cities and countryside in central and interior Asia, where there is a vast Turkish region From North of the Syr Darya to Lake Isik known by the Turks as the province of Argo. Ghaznawis in the south of Khorasan and the city of Ghazni. The kingdom of the Khazars was a stable people in the Volga and Caspian region. Uighurs have a stable people in Tarim and Mongolia. And others ,,,, Not all the people of the Oguz were nomads, they were a diverse society with cities and towns, probably true, most of them pastoralists. Fortunately, there is an ancient Turkish dictionary in the Middle Ages that contains hundreds of vocabulary in urban and rural life. The rise of the Turkish people and their sovereignty in the world is a historical inevitability, which took place under objective conditions, created civilizations and left many imprints on human cultures. A Coptic historian named John of Nikiû wrote this phrase in the seventh century AD: "God conquers the Romans with Arabs and Turks." Arabs with the Caliphate Empire. turks With the kingdoms of the Bulgars, the khazars and the Avar, who besieged the Byzantines in Europe. And in the East with the empires of Goktürk, Shahi Turk and Uyghur. Unfortunately, there are ugly racist comments, military expansion is the character of the ancient world, the Greeks with Alexander the Great, Romans, Persians, Assyrians, Arabs and others. Some of these comments attack the Mongolian race, which has made great civilizations and global empires. This Western racist forgets the Western expansion of the American continent, the removal of the maya civilization and Aztec civilization, the cultures of indigenous peoples, the expansion of Africa, the theft of its wealth, the expansion of East Asia and the wars of opium. I apologize for my broken English.
@Reader_curiosity
@Reader_curiosity 6 жыл бұрын
Illustration: In the Uighur people, Tarim is the province of Xinjiang in western China known as East Turkistan. In the quick response to racial comments, since the Turks have been ethnically mixed peoples since ancient times, there are many racist comments attacking the Mongol race spread in East Asia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia and the Americas. People belonging to the Mongol race are human beings like the rest of humanity Belonging to other races. People belonging to the Mongol race have created many civilizations and world empires, and have the most powerful economies in the world. The Mongol race has different colors, different features and special beauty standards.

What I like most about your channel, is your ability to show all sides of History, without bias towards any one side and how they inneract with each other over time. Most of the older European History, is written as seen by the Culture or Nation of the Historian and often modified to fit their views of people's seen as Historical enemies of Europe. @@fvefve12 I'll check that out, to truly understand History you have to see it from all sides, not just one. Its like learning about the Second World War with the American History taught in Highschool, a very condensed one sided version of what actually happened. By its nature, it only shows a brief version of what one Country did, leaving out ninity percent of what actually happened. For the other Countries involved, you get less than a paragraph, sometimes only a sentence or two. They encourage you to study the War on your own, as the library has much more detailed book's on the subject, few do and have a very one sided veiw of the War. I've read over twenty book's from different Countries and still learn new things I hadn't heard of, you just can't cover six years of a World War in any one book. History isn't the story of just one Country or Culture, it's a record of Humanity and how it inneracts with itself through time. If you just know about Germany from what Highschool History says, you think Evil Nazis! But if you study Germany from 1918 to 1939, you understand why Germany took the path it did and how the same thing could happen again. Thanks for the Information! The Crusades and the Politics/Religion behind it is a very convoluted time in History, with things like the Children's Crusades, which is very hard to understand today!

@@VB-mv7mf 💀 so much cope Its history of the TURKISH people, the people who have come to these lands and established the country of TURKEY in the same lands. The video is talking about how those people who established turkey came to these lands, therefore it is undeniably turkish history. By your logic history of prussia isnt history of germany because germany is a relatively new country and that it doesnt even own prussia anymore. or history of the ussr and the russian empire arent russian history because the russian federation was born only 30 years ago. And dont even try to argue “uhhhhh turks only have 30% central asian dna therefore theyre all not turks!!!” The turks have assimilated many peoples throughout their history but they still have kept their languages and traditions while accepting and adopting some customs from the locals, would you rather they employ the same tactics the south africans used to keep themselves “genetically pure”? It doesnt matter at all whose blood you got, the thing that matters is the language that you speak and your loyalties, and many countless turks have demonstrated this throughout history and even recent history. You could literally make the claim that history of the ottoman empire is greek history because the sultans married greeks and had their blood in them, a claim which will honestly be immediately rejected by any greek or turk.

A Turk complaining about Nationalists... Your scum nation to this day erases the true history of its nations and claims that the Hittites, Hatti, Laz and other Anatolians were Turks. Up until the early 20th century you were forcefully converting Christians and killing those who didn't. Even today there are so called crypto-Armenians who are afraid of revealing their identity. In the 20th century you had a political initiative "Speak Turkish Citizen!", which didn't even let children at school speak their native language with other children. You were resettling hundreds of thousands Kurds, Armenians, Georgians, Circassians, so you could mix them up to erase our identity and you call someone bad because he is a nationalist? The Turks who entered Anatolia were not only herders. Just study art and architecture of the Seljuk cities in Anatolia! Turks brought a matured urban culture to Anatolia together with its architecture. It was a process begun in Iran and Central Asia in the 8th century. Western Orientalist historians tell tales to themselves then to the world and expect us to believe this nonsense. We are fed up with Western superiority complex and its products like this propaganda. We know the realities since we know our history better then you now. Forget about these nineteenth century colonialist, imperialist, racist nonsense and start to read on Seljuk and Ottoman art and architecture which was based on Early Islamic prototypes but also well advanced thanks to the scientists and craftsmen of the period. Turks are great creators and sponsors of art. Just see Caghatai emperors in India, Safavids and Ottomans.

Many Kurds those times (1922) where the ones who fought most and suffered most to save a dead empire byside with Ataturk... *one of the most* Ataturk called everyone to fight for a dead empire... a lot of Laz, Zaza and Kurds helped Ataturk... even Ataturk had Kurdish friends even Armenian friends... who called themself as Turks. even to save todays Syrian/Turkish borders in those times did the Kurds fight a lot... well.. in a other way are you right... Ataturk did ultra islamists also those who would be a threat for turkey after like many many years... for example is the usa trying to use the kurds in splitting Turkey... (thankfully are most for Turkey, can also write why if you want) and Ataturk knew that something like this would happen... in a other way do the Kurds need to be thankfully towards Turkey... in the iraq-iran war... 500k Kurdish refugees had been taken into Turkey (which are now up to 12/14% turkeys population) Even today.. in those 4m refugees are up to 300k Kurds.. which even todays Kurdish citizens of Turkey dont like to have them in Turkey... (can tell aswell why if you want).. Yes there are many Kurds who want a Kurdistan... and those are up to 3% - 5% of kurdish population in turkey.. also in my mind do they have nothing to do in Turkey... I would kick them out..

Dear @HistoryTime Turks enter Anatolia much much before the 10 and 11th centuries. Avars, Huns, Pechenegs went to mid-Europe between 5-10th centuries. Avars laid siege to Istanbul. Also Pechenegs served Byzentines-II. Roman Empire as mercenary. And they made wars in Anatolia and therefore settled in Anatolia. Also Etrusks in Italy are very early age civilization whose language is not belong to Indo-European Language family. But their roots are coming from Anatolia according to many grek historians including Heredotus. So their roots coming from Anatolia but language is not Indo-European. So their root may come from Turkic tribe.

From the 7th to the 9th centuries, Emperor Taizong of Tang of China's Great Tang Empire, the world's most powerful nation, invaded the First Turkic Khaganate. And the East Turkic Empire, which became the conquered area of the Greater Tang Empire of China, was conquered by the Greater Tang Empire, and the surviving Western Turkic Empire moved west toward Anatolia and established the Seljuk Empire. Later, in the 13th century, the Mongol Empire, the world's most powerful country that conquered the world, invaded the Seljuk Empire. The Seljuk Empire becomes a colony of the Mongol Empire. And the Timurid Empire, a descendant of Genghis Khan, invaded the Ottoman Empire again and took Sultan Bayezid I as a prisoner of war, turning the Timurid Empire into a semi-colony. Whenever I study world history textbooks, I think that world history always flows towards the history of the strongest hegemon.

Seriously impressive work. Thanks for presenting us with a non mainstream account of history. It’s true that most impressions of history are reduced to clashes of religious ideas,7 when religion is merely a thin cover for ingrained lust and lore among all humans; it’s who we are really, territorial animals in human form. Such truth continues to this day.

You managed to give such a complex topic a diligent and intelligent analysis and presentation, so well done. Not very relevant over a year later, but in any case when you tackle complex topics like this in the future, the presentation side of things could benefit from some more clearly-delineated organisation, breaking-up or signposting the topic into sections (either using visual or auditory cues). It just might make it flow more easily.

Even after almost 1000 years you land lords still struggle to understand the Horse lords!! Seljuk empire never ever had a centralized political structure like Byzantine, Fatimids or Mongols etc rather it was kinda a defensive alliance of Oghuz Turks that all tribes had to defend the empire in case of an attack and it would be seen as a great cowardliness to refuse so regardless they liked or not all tribe leaders had to support Seljuk sultans during defensive wars but during peace times or offensive wars tribe leaders didn't have to follow Seljuk sultan rather often they went for their own advantures to plunder or capture smaller towns closer to Sultan's target. For doing that they had to recruit soldiers and prepare their own armies, that's why pretty much all Seljuk Beys were going back to Central Asia for recruiting more Turks and those Turks were bringing their families with them who followed the main armies from behind and this is why Seljuk armies were pretty much undefeated expect some minor raids as if they bailed out and ran away that certainly meant their families would get slaughtered as they could only travel in slow speeds!! For example it is documented that Suleiman son of Qutalmish gathered a great army in Central Asia around Tashkent in 1072 and returned to Anatolia capturing a dozen cities including Iconium and Adana, also ending the kingdom of Cilicia until 1082 and his army had a follower army of soldier families all around this route and while they slowly migrated to where they liked. Turkish tribe system wasn't forceful in any time period and tribesmen were free to change their tribe or form their own tribes-families by migrating a seperated land from their original tribe. So big tribes were like big cities which offered more protection and better standards of living while small tribes were small cities with less protection and risks of failures even so countless advanturers formed their own tribes that one of them was Selçuk Bey who was just a Turkish general until he decided to form his own tribe which later became Seljuk empire so i must say Arabs have a fine nonsense there as ''Nawakiya'' tribe which was supposedly rivals of Seljuks, sadly Arabs liked to fabricate weird things about Turkish invasions.. Which means if Romanos didn't break non-agression pact with Seljuk empire that he signed it himself and attack Seljuk empire, it was very well possible Seljuk empire never was going to get enough power to defeat Byzantine empire as Seljuk sultans had much weaker armies during offensive wars!! It is also known that Alp Arslan ordered tribes not to raid Byzantine lands while you are claiming that he sent those Turkish tribes but care to explain why he signed a non-agression pact then??? That you also somehow failed to mention even if it is recorded by both Byzantine and Turkish sources such a document was signed!! Anyway, because it was a defensive war all tribes (Close enough to catch) joined Seljuk sultan's army during the battle of Manzikert and even then Seljuk army was outnumbered at least 3 times according to all sources and that's why Seljuk rulers were focusing on Fatimids as they were thinking they couldn't defeat Byzantine with their current strength but thanks to the extreme miscalculation of Romanos and the betrayal of Andronikos doukas who left Emperor Romanos alone in the battle field and returned to Constantinople with his 30,000 troops Turks managed to destroy majority of Byzantine's army and gain military superiority over them forever then Anatolia became a main target for Turks!! If Romanos just stayed in Constantinople and chilled out next to bosphorous perhaps there was a Turkish Egypt today while Anatolia remained as Roman??? Just joking, we would most probably return after capturing Egypt as we never liked deserts but who knows it is possible.. Pretty much all Nomadic nations had same culture and from Hunnic empires (In Nomadic history we consider Xiongnu as Asian Hunnic empire) to Göktürk empire, all of them were Nomadic confederations which acted as a defensive alliance rather than a centralized empire and from Turks to Mongols there were very nations under them while for Seljuk empire it was much smaller scale as only Oghuz Turks joined the empire. Mongol empire is an exception due Genghis Khan became so powerful he somehow managed to centralize his empire with an extreme brutality but this also ended his empire in less than 100 years due as soon as Genghis Khan died there were rebellions all over Mongol empire and Turkish invasion was a gentle touch compared to Mongols or crusaders or do i have to quote some lines about how hundreds of thousands got killed and entire cities got burned when Mongols captured Baghdad and Tashkent or when Crusaders captured Antioch, Jerusalem and even Constantinople??? :)) So assuming that crusades were against Turks is just complete nonsense as first of all crusaders were the real barbarians who were destroying everything on their routes as they were starting to raid in even Europe!! Early crusades never ever targeted Turks specifically as the first crusade just went through Turkish Anatolia and captured first Antioch then Jerusalem including surronding cities instead of trying to push Turks out of Anatolia!! And the most important majority of Catholics didn't even consider Orthodoxs as true Christians back then rather as heretics and often razed Orthodox cities and also Jewish ones so i guess you watched too much western movies where crusaders are pictured as ''defenders of Christendom'' somehow while in reality they were only defenders of gold and glory...

Finally, someone juat fucking explained it. I always lose the point and my way in pointless details when I'm trying to explain all this. Even the nerdiest history geeks I've known from europe can't grasp that.
