I concur! I don't think the original can be improved upon however this was much better than the big network 80s remake of the series.

The school used the original script, but needed to trim it a little for use at the school. Stephen Davies is a remarkable actor. He studied at the same school with Alan Rickman.

If I had not just watched this tonight, and if the necessary credit cards and Rod Sterling cameo was inserted in, I would’ve thought this was the real thing. I’m surprised how many films other film students made with this episode as a base, but honestly, I think yours is the best. I hope the students all did good things after this.

Well done! An underrated episode to to try. And an actor's dream to boot, with every speaking character getting to play a double role. Earl Hamner also wrote The Hunt, which was another episode with a different feel from most Twilight Zone episodes, but still really great.

You are so right John, the actos often reprised the role for different student classes with different directors. I was honored to be asked to direct APITH and by chance worked with a talented cinematographer, Greg White, with whom I collaborated with on another project "Servitude". Quite a few of the students wound up working on the project because of their talent on the Twilight ep. I will have to 'hunt' out The Hunt episode. Many thanks... Adrian

My father was a narcissist. I recognized him here big as day even tho he has been gone 50 years. I recognized a couple much like him in these replies here. This is a valuable contribution both theatrically and emotionally for those caught up in it's web . There are those who say Shakespeare should never be repeated beyond the first performance. Stephen Davies is still acting but nothing major the past 5 years. Piper Major is still very active in TV and film [recently This Is US series] Salvatore Spinelli teaches music and looking to jump back into acting. Jenna Shaw - not sure. Oto Brezina still acting, character actor parts mostly.

This remake of the same title does not come anywhere close to the original. I cannot understand why remakes are produced. Leave the original works alone and concentrate on fresh material. ☝️🙄

Appreciate your comment Claudio, however, you seem to have missed the point. This is not a remake, but a student exercise for the Los Angeles Film School. They use this and a couple of other TZ scripts for the students to learn. It is part of the curriculum. Cheers

Great TZ, but it's obvious that the music we're hearing is not the roll that's in the player. If I were able to read those perforations better, I'd tell you the name of the roll that's quickly rolling by.

Well spotted James, the rolls were definitely not correct. We couldn't find the correct rolls for the music cues I wanted to use. I attempted to match the holes with the track as best I could.

I was a guest director for the school about 13 years ago - The LAFS rotates directors, but I understand the script is still part of the curricula. Sadly most efforts are never completed.

If you read the description - because it was chosen by the LA Film School for students to learn from. There were a handful of TZ scripts and Casablanca and a few Fawlty Towers. Curious to note if you actually watched it or just nixed it as another unnecessary remake? Maybe if you watch it again keeping in mind it was made by students with only 3 months training you might come away with a different impression.. well I hope so anyway. Thx for the comment and I agree with you on principle, too many classic are remade these days.
