Very different from FL. Christine, I empathize with you as the wrong gear can make a trip less than fun. The time on land was called for. I've never been in the water with anything so big other than a spotted whale shark in the Keys. Sounds like the locals were kind to you. An online review on diver travel sites, warning about the management's attitude towards tourists will help others in the future. No one likes being lied to. Judah seems to have a positive attitude about enjoying the experience no matter the challenges. Great way to live one's life. No regrets.
