In 2019, the TWIPY award "Favorite Home Brew Pinball Machine" went to Jack Danger for a never built/completed nor brought to any expos for public play (as far as I know) for game he named "Dead Flip". All the other contenders actually built their games to levels of completion and brought them to expos for public consumption. It was total horse crap. Yeah, he did two machines later, with STERN, but the 2019 "homebrew" Jack Danger won the TWIPY for when his competition actually built theirs.... BARF.

The biggest issue with the idea of an award like Twipy is that it's 100% based on popularity. if you have enough emails you win. The idea of having an award based on manufactures is also kinda bad, no different then the oscars. Screw you if your not "Tom Cruise". We all know stern makes production games and JJP makes higher end collector games so how are they supposed to compete at each other. The entire concept is just bad. We really don't need an award show our industry is to small.

Never understood how to vote. They should take votes from attendees at TXPF or Chicago. Barely anyone has played any of the new games. How are we supposed to vote? Then the category of best arcade, you basically vote for your local arcade. There aren't enough people to remove candidates. Best new podcaster? There are like 7 and none of them new. Let it die and just enjoy pinball. The idea that this awards show has so much talk is bonkers. The best part of my local community is hanging with people and playing, not choosing who is the best.

I know you weren’t fishing for compliments here, but you do some of the best content out here and you champion the hobby as well as give back to the community. You’re one of the few to figure out how to be edgy or do satire without being mean about it. And usually if there’s criticism, there’s a piece of advice to go with it. Who knows, maybe this will lead to some good changes or somebody else will do a show that’s even better and becomes the new standard.

It would have just been your turn. Unlike winning Best of show at TPF, you can't win 2 years in a row, but you can win more than once. It forces others to step up. Which is what you want. You want to create a category in such a way, that encourages competition between the best of the best. You deserved that award, you put the work in for it. You got better year over year to the point where your work exceeded previous winners.

I think they should come out and reinstate everything and publicly bar Kineda for his on-going actions that have caused grief and stress for other members of the content creator community. Like Fck it, this guy clearly crosses the line and maybe that type of behavior should just cause him to be ineligible until he changes his behavior. Wanna criticize games, manufacturers, etc .. I mean that should be fine and part of what freedom of speech is about. But going out of your way to have drunken tirades and being a dick head should have you barred from a private org's award ceremony until that type of behavior changes. The content creators for pinball are a community wiithin the community, why allow for the promotion of outward toxicity against other content creators. This seems more equitable to me personally. We have some pretty big content creators that eat up a bunch of the views/ votes. This gives smaller and up-and-coming creators an opportunity to be seen and discovered by other viewers. This will actually help promote more content in the grand scheme of things!
