Someone smart enough to plan this all out isn’t going to leave the damn evidence under the seat of their car MONTHS later, and she just happened to know it was there?? Wrote a letter that would send him to JAIL for murdering his own mother, and she’s INNOCENT?Riiiiight. People going to whatever website mike mentioned aren’t using their brains. I'm absolutely appalled by the American justice system. It's a mockery. Letting laymen decide over a defendants fate who have no special knowledge or experience is a travesty. Even though there was circumstantial evidence you can't force a decision from the jury when it's obvious that there is reasonable doubt.

I honestly can't believe that Caitlin can't get a retrial solely based upon the fact that the trial would have ended in a mistrial and the judge force them to go back in and make a decision even though they clearly weren't able to previously. I don't understand how a judge is legally able to force a jury into making a decision that they have already told the judge they are not able to do. Sounds illegal as hell to me when they've said that they want a mistrial
@Matilda-y
@Matilda-y 14 күн бұрын
I agree. Just wrote similar before I saw your comment. Unlikely to get a retrial I’m thinking because now the other 2 suspicious suspects were given immunity, just for testifying (weird) and because they knew the defence would go after them.
@CMinorOp67
@CMinorOp67 3 жыл бұрын
I’m baffled as to why the husband and son were given immunity just for being witnesses during Caitlyn’s trial. I’ve never heard of such. Why would they even expect something in return for testifying at the trial of their wife’s/mother’s murder. Especially if they are innocent. So, even if they come out and admit they did it…they can’t be tried. Would not be surprised, at all, if they DID do it. Actually leaning more that way now.

I've had to plant Autumn crocus which is where colchicine comes from, when I worked at a greenhouse while I was studying for my botany degree. Didn't like it, I wore gloves. It was used in the botanical field to induce polyploidy in plants. Polyploidy is useful for causing speciation. I can legally grow the devil's lettuce in my state, and knowing what I know, I would never use colchicine. If I wanted to make different varieties of plants, I'd do it the old fashioned way, by cross-breeding.

It would be still be absolutely plausible that she planted the drug/poison for the sole purpose of trying to get back at Adam; even though he didn't do it OR she DIDN'T do it. And if you're trying to get someone blamed for something- and if a person knows what the cause of death was (as she did) - it's completely logical/plausible for said person to look up the substance that caused the death in order to figure out where to buy it. I am so torn on this one because the husband literally immediately moved on to a romantic relationship with his long term wife's SISTER!!! That's not normal and is a stronger motive than the son hoping to get money from his mother's estate; given that most often, the estate lawfully goes to the spouse if said spouse is also the bio parent of all applicable children.

Some people are just cold-blooded but that doesn't mean they are guilty of murder. Even the language they use may be relevant.

@@timotakkinen2695 Pardon me, Timo, but I never said that I thought that Bill's inappropriate joke made him guilty of murder (there's plenty of OTHER evidence for that, apparently!). I'm well aware that people react in many different ways to stress, but I still think that Bill's joke was weird & creepy as ferkuck - at the very best, displaying an autistic-level lack of appreciation for propriety (which could be MORE likely, tbh, him being a 'big-brained succesful scientist' & all), & at the very worst, displaying a super-reptilian cold-bloodedness to his soul-mate's truly tragic demise. But not (possibly) loving Mary no more DOESN'T automatically make him her killer, neither (Hey Mike - PLEASE quit your Insurance Dance here, thank you! LoL). So, sorry to say, but my opinion remains unchanged there! ☺️ As far as who DID kill Mary, I agree with our dear Mike, that this case appears simply too hard to call EITHER way on ANY of the three main suspects. This was evidenced by TWO hung juries in Kaitlyn's case (though as we know, the second was forced to make a decision by the judge, thus making a complete mockery of the "trial by jury" system, imho, but that's a whole NUTHER can of worms, which I've opened in a separate post on this thread a few hours before composing this reply). And as for Bill & Adam, the fact the State had to offer them IMMUNITY from prosecution in exchange for their testimonies, suggests to me that EQUALLY weak (yes, weak) cases could well have been built against THEM as well - otherwise WHY offer such a carrot in the first place? But y'know, thanks to THAT brilliant legal maneuver, after Kaitlyn's first trial was hung, the State COULDN'T try Bill & Adam, even if they'd wanted to. Addendum: For what it's worth (which ain't much, as I wasn't at either trial), MY "gut feeling" is that either ALL THREE were involved in the murder to a greater or lesser degree, OR that yes, Kaitlyn was indeed framed by Bill &/or Adam. But as we all surely know by now, gut feelings ain't worth diddly-squat, ESPECIALLY from the likes of 'Armchair Detectives' like you or I (NO offence meant, but I honestly believe that unless a person was in that courtroom for the duration, it's - virtually - impossible to judge from one or two or however more KZbin videos & news items - even such elegantly-presented one's as 'That Chapter' - though I cannot deny it's fun to try!). What I AM more (reasonably) certain of, is that in this case, like those pesky Japanese 1980s "Robots in Disguise", there's MORE here than meets the eye. Peace be with you!👍☺️👍

@alyssaheller7860
@alyssaheller7860 Жыл бұрын
@@kristyhoward6897 its really not a good idea to judge guilt and innocence soley on things like that. No one can predict how they will respond to shock, grief, and truama. And it is just as normal to behave bizarrely, irrationally, nonsensical, illogical, and even to shut down completely as it is to respond in a more "socially acceptable " way. Humans are also notoriously bad at judging deception and consistently overestimate their ability to be able to. Body language is a tool that cant be used alone. And you can't infer anything accurately without knowing a persons baseline. And even if you accurately determine what emotion à person feels, body language cant tell you why they feel that way. There are hundreds of reasons to feel anything. No matter how obvious you think the reason is for something. Also, you should know that most of what is commonly believed about body language, like certain movements or expressions mean this or that, esp when it comes to signs of deception, have been debunked by psychology and the FBI's behavioral analysis unit. So, id be real careful about judging guilt and innocence by something like that. Their victim impact statements. Victim impact statements are when à victim or their loved one(s) get to tell the now the convicted person who changed their life, how that person effected them. How their crime effected them. I really wouldnt say things like "it seemed so fake to me and unbelievable " in a situation like this. Victim impact statements are highly personal, and usually are a result of a horrific truama that directly effected you. And you have to say how that truama hurt you, effected you, changed your life, how you feel about the person who was convicted by society in a court of law for being responsible for this terrible, permanent, life changing event in your life. And you have to read it, in open court, to the person who hurt you and/or your loved one, possibly with cameras and then people on youtube are gonna watch it for the rest of your life, judging and making comments about how believable your performance was and speculating if you had anything to do with the crime. Id just keep that in mind. These are human beings. And they have human responses. And this is real life. You get to end this video and never think of this case again if you dont want to. But, that was his mother. And his wife. And their mothers/ wife's family was out there saying THEY are the ones responsible for your mother/wife being murdered and gone. This is real life. This is their life. They have to live with this the rest of their lives. We can all afford just a little more compassion.

But if you want to argue that the father did it, and that he was a master criminal, then why would he plant evidence in his son's car instead of Kaitlyn's car? Right, her excuses are absurd. And if Adam or the Dad guilty then how did she know it was buried under the seat of Adam's truck? She admitted she wrote the letter. She says Adam supposedly confessed to her, I guess she could say he told her where he was keeping it. But I find it hard to believe that part of his "confession" was telling her "And I hid the evidence under the seat of my dirty ass truck where it's been sitting for the last 5 months!" And if the Dad supposedly did and was framing her by using HER computer, cellphone, and her prepaid cards to search poisons and eventually order it why the hell would he plant the bottle under his SON's car seat,, thereby framing both of them? Then there is the insane, later assertion that ADAM wrote the letter "telling the truth"...what motive would he have to send that to the cops? Why would he write an anonymous letter that pointed to himself and have them digging through his truck where the poison was?
