I used to be friends with Purple Reign, and Ben by extension. He was always kind of an arrogant jerk, but what happened was still a surprise to all of us. I won't reveal much, cuz Reign didn't want her name or too many details to get out. She's been through enough, she deserves her privacy and I hope the internet lets her have that. But I can say that the reason she left Ben was because he had begun to show abusive tendencies, just like her ex, and she had to get out of that situation. That may have been the final blow that sent Ben off the deep end, but it started with Nicole Westbrook's murder. It's clear Ben was traumatized from the event, but he never sought help or reached out to a therapist. He just buried it deep down and didn't want to talk about it.

Yeah I live in West TN, and the problem here is that everybody's armed, unfortunately the bad guys much more heavily than the good. I live here, I know dude through other friends. The drug war is a tragic joke, Seattle has been catastrophically gentrified, and remains an absolute pit of corruption. Our City's been hijacked, crime is the highest it's. ever been in my lifelong residency. We have the most regressive taxation in the country, the lowest quality of life, the greatest disparity of quality of life and wealth in the country, highest rate of homelessness in the country and 3rd highest number of homeless just behind LA and NYC which are so much more populated, it's insane. We also have the worst air quality of any city in the WORLD, let alone country. No city in China made top 10. This is not hyperbolic, but proven, published statistics Every time I've met the dude, he's been chill, and friendly. I've seen him a couple times since his dope selling scandal, and I don't care about drug "crime". But I have heard some tales of dirty dealings with corrupt cops, snitching allegations and stories of shadiness. Again, I down give a shit about consensual drug "crimes", buy don't appreciate hypocrisy, and I don't see drug merchants as villains, but you can go about it in a shady way. He is definitely around, and doesn't seem phased by his legal issues. Can say dude has a huge and imposing physique

Honestly, one thing he could do to better his community is to offer to teach people to defend themselves using martial arts for free in a community-sponsored setup like a rec center or something like that, if that's even possible. As a martial artist myself I've always wanted to teach but can't afford my own place to teach in and can't partner with anyone because I'm also disabled. What I do instead is I ask around if anyone wants to learn for free. While I'm only teaching a friend of mine right now, I hope to be able to expand on that and teach others who might want to learn as well. I don't even care about money, I want to do it because it's the only way I can think of that I can make the world a better place and give back to others. Maybe Pheonix Jones can, too.

It feels to me that ordinary, but damaged, people with substance abuse problems had more to fear from Phoenix Jones than the truly violent criminals did. At least, that is the impression I got from this coverage of him. I am not from Seattle and I tend to avoid MSM, so Phoenix/Ben was never a highlight in my news stream. I hope he finds or has found peace, or at least confronted the demons appear to live, rent-free, in his head.

Great video. I do have to say that I disagree with you on one thing though, I don't think men are designed for violence. I think that's an overgeneralization. I don't consider myself, as a man, violent by design. I could be violent if I needed to defend myself or my family, that's not an issue. But I don't feel like aggression is a part of me that I have to go out of my way to control. I do think pride and unchecked, balls to the wall aggression disguised as masculinity is a huge problem in our society though. But either way, I have really enjoyed your videos, I am glad I'm not the only one who finds these weird corners of the interest fascinating
@interestingstufffromaround8014
@interestingstufffromaround8014 8 ай бұрын
People confuse violence with unchecked aggression as men are not shown how to be violent anymore. Violence is hunting to feed your family, defending them, laying down your life for what you love. We are told that violence is only bad these days while ignoring that it is the underlying mechanism of life on earth so we should learn how to use it correctly, the same as any tool 👍

something a bit odd about putting cocaine, MDMA and mushrooms on the same level. Drugs ruin a lot of lives and I don't think it's people's right to be a drain on society nor a threat to it. If people acted normal when they put these substances in their bodies (or when they come down from them), then the substances wouldn't be illegal. This idea of having infinite rights to do whatever you want with yourself is kind of insane and not really something i expected from this narrator. But hey, we all have our own opinions.

I lived in Seattle for years, and it's a beautiful place land wise, but by far the worst community, culture, and leadership in the country, and anywhere abroad I've ever been. There's a terrifying denial most people there live in, that the rest of the country has the same issues. But, I've never had a car stolen or broken into in the 40ish other states or 100s of cities I've been in, Never had my job vandalized weekly anywhere else, never been yelled at by a naked man on the street anywhere else, never had so many physical altercations anywhere else, never had to wrestle my grocery bags back from a thief in broad daylight inches from the store anywhere else. Etc.. It was tempting to put on a clown suit and start fighting crime myself, but this story shows us how futile it would have been I guess. Lol
