Dan and Chelle don't spend long out at the LDS Temple grounds! Today they head into downtown Kyiv and get shown all the sights by the two greatest tour guides, Chelle's parents! They only have less than 24 hours to see as much as they can in Kyiv before heading off to Lviv in the morning, so they don't waste any time! The go see tons of sights like St. Volodymyr's Cathedral, St. Sophia's Cathedral, St. Michael's Cathedral, The Golden Gate, Friendship of Nation's Arch, as well as eat some amazing foods! I’ve always loved Cathedrals! Being Catholic, I’ve been to a few myself. They are all so beautiful inside & out. We eat shawarma regularly here in Bahrain but yours look different! Ours have a lamb and veal combo meat malgoum, french fries, yogurt sauce and they are small, like the size of a Taco Bell Soft Taco. I love seeing Mona and Papa Bingham.

When I worked in Kyiv the host's parents owned a hotel not far from where you were. I saw the Friendship Monument, the Funicular, and that bridge you were on. It's a very green city.

Confused me a bit when you didn’t use the English translation Kiev pronounced ‘kee ev’ kee as in door key and ev as in ever 👍🏻

It's actually not an english translation but a russian translation that was used the Soviet Union dominated by russians. So they are saying it absolutely right - in ukrainian which is Kyiv. It might seem like a small details for foreigners but a very important for countries that are facing the issues of post colonial society.

Actually, Kyiv is the way it's spelled in Ukraine when they use our alphabet. Kiev is the way it's spelled by the US/UK and is falling out of favour.
