Ironic that in the prime example thereof: to be named to the Secretary General's inner circle was a *death-sentence*, yet only a question of "When?" at that: it stands to reason that they'd have learned to keep their heads *down* and to avoid drawing attention to themselves; what with a profoundly paranoid head of state to fear. And ironically, in their case: it'd be actually safer to have to take out an entire *Panther Division* with only a loaded *pistol* than to receive a "Hero of the Soviet Union" medal from the Secretary General himself!

i think what makes ds9 my favourite trek is that its scale is just right. when tng had battles it was common it was just 16 people, when new trek has battles its 1 million cgi effects smashing into eachother. but for ds9 its like 50 people total and a special effects team working hard, end result is a believable battle scale and the perfect amount of star trek cheesyness

Always confused me why the "universal translator" didn't translate _specific_ Klingon phrases that then needed to be translated by a character...

I honestly have to say DS9 was my favorite Star Trek. It was so different than the others being centered around one place versus one ship thats all over the place. I think Sisko is my favorite Captain as well. Avery Brooks was damn good and he had that booming voice that when it came time to loudly proclaim what is and what ain't, his voice is HEARD.

Clearly the universal translator is operated by a foot pedal, and Gowron's foot slipped there at the end. Must be those clunky Klingon boots.

History may be written by the victors but it also written by the bystanders.

4:39 - the universal translator seems to have hiccups when translating Klingon. It translates 99% of it perfectly (apparently). Then suddenly starts sucking for no apparent reason. ☮

Just remember when you are firing that thing you are aiming it at a Klingon,,, I will try to keep that in mind

In a later episode Garak admitted to Odo that he considered shooting Dukat in the back -- "It's the safest way" -- but decided he might need him against the invading Klingons.

If anyone has a deep arsenal and bloated defense budget, I'd bet on the Klingons.
