Not really, Sindy was a very popular doll in the U.K. a lot of girls preferred her to Barbie because her look was more attainable than Barbie. I had a couple of them along with Barbies when I was a kid. She also had a boyfriend’ called Paul.

OMG, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG HAVE I BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS MOVIE!!! I remember watching it when I was a kid! And for obvious reasons, I thought IT WAS a Barbie movie! So when I grew up and randomly remember watching it I tried to look it up, BUT I COULDN’T FIND IT, I WATCHED EVERY BARBIE MOVIE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHICH ONE IT WAS BECAUSE I WAS ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED IT WAS A BARBIE MOVIE!! I thought I was losing it because no one else remembers ever watching this “Barbie” movie but me, I even got my dad to help me look for it because I couldn't have possibly imagined a whole-ass movie by myself, right!? Eventually, I gave up and came to the conclusion that it was an obscure Barbie movie that for some reason got banned and erase from the lineup. I can now die peacefully knowing that I finally uncovered the truth, thank you, kind sir.🙇‍♀️

Ok as a self proclaimed Uglydolls fanatic (FUCKIGN hate that movie) who will one day make a video essay on it, the visuals of Uglydolls is actually pretty good! I mean the “pretty dolls” look very, meh. But the designs for the Uglydolls themselves and the town is actually really good! Very cute and creative! It’s definitely the story itself that is the cause of most problems in that movie (and the fact that no actual care was put into it 💀)

I was way more of a Barbie girl than a Disney girl so Barbie was my entire childhood. I'm 19 and I also regularly watch the movies. I have a collection of DVDS and I'm only missing a couple of the earlier ones (Nutcracker and Swan Lake are the two I remember missing off the top of my head).

I remember picking up this movie at a stall at my church when I was 4 years old. I was so excited to find it because the rest of the movies where all adult actions. Cost 50p and went to my grandmas for the night. I fell in love with it, and all the songs. When I rewatched it a few months ago, I took great joy in showing my friends the wonderful animations. My favourite includes the black void eyes of the unicorn and the princes hair style. Love people discovering crappy childhood favourite movies of mine. If it weren’t for nostalgia alone, I too would find them ridiculous. (Let’s be honest, even with the nostalgia it’s still ridiculous) Would love to see some barbie reactions! ♥️♥️

As a Brit I feel I need to stick up for Sindy. Many British girl’s preferred her to Barbie as she was more down to earth. I had a few along with my Barbies when I was little in the 80s but admittedly, this was after Sindy’s heyday in the 60s & 70s. I remember having a ‘Barbiefied’ Sindy in the late 80s, it’s a shame Sindy never made a big comeback. Also Sindy had her own doll’s house, cars, bikes and her boyfriend is called Paul, not Ken.

OMG!!! I had this film on VHS growing up and I LOVED it. Especially the scenes when the real girl would look at the doll while her story was taking place. I was convinced that meant my dolls were having adventures when I wasn't watching them. I could quote huge swathes of the film by heart and I watched it so often I broke the tape it was on. Did not expect the nostalgia to hit me so hard when you played excerpts from the film. I gotta see if I can find this online again.

This movie was part of my childhood, I loved it and hated it so so much for obvious reasons and thanks to you mentioning than John Lennon (it shook me so I had to do some research) I found out that it was actually John Nettles who voiced him and also the magical wand and also the king, and this is very shocking because me and my mom are addicted to Midsomer Murders so yeah... wow funny little fact haha. i haven't seen the video yet but this made me remember sindy. i have this movie on dvd in the most 2000's fashion ever (it is from 2006). it is on a double sided dvd in a 4 movie box set. together with something from my little pony and friends, alice through the looking glass (1998) and some instructional film about how to become a ballet dancer. i thought sindy was absolutely terrifying as a kid but i still watched it quite a fiew times and i wouldn't be surprised if the dvd is completely scratched (the suffering of double sided dvds).
