Looks way better and more useful than the FLX6 with the pro gear CFX selector and channel assign. I also think Pioneer should have gone with those soft-magnets (like those for fridge) instead of a sticker for Serato layout.

I was talking to GroverRider the other day, at all day DnB Rave in London. I asked him what he thought's are on DJing today. He looked at me said 90% Dj's of toady would never make it, he said the Tec today makes life so easy. Most of them spend far to much time, with loops Knob pushing, not really doing a lot, He said i doubt most of them can mix on vinly. He then went to do his set, where i got to watch, Man never used any effects or anything like that, Straight up Mixing He Smashed the place up !

That's why so many DJs get extremely creative with their sets now! A simple set with good mixing and good tracks does the trick, but to really reach in for the long run, one needs to take advantage of what technological leaps and bounds we've had without compromising the heart and soul of DJing too. With groove circuit, I can imagine the envelope being pushed even furthet

​@@djcarlo you're saying that Grooverider needs to use effects to stay in it for the long haul? You are aware that he was one of the first few to develop jungle/DNB over 30 years ago, correct? Literally none of the top DNB DJ's use anything more than a little filtering and reverb.

I said no such thing. The difference is that Grooverider has made his mark, and has an enduring legacy already. Newer DJs don't have that yet, and competition is much much more intense. Many established DJs nowadays still do get creative with their sets now, but they have much less to prove than newer DJs who still need to get their name out there.

Ah! The encircled part is the Groove Circuit. Honestly, at first, I had to ask what it was for or WHO it was for. Ugly truth is that it's still got the feel of a very mid-range controller, despite the price. Moonswatch vs Moonwatch debacle essentially. But it's still a pretty good controller, especially with the groove circuit feature. Thanks for the feedback though!

But I haven't got a super powerful computer so I'm not sure if I should get this and a new computer or just an all in one deck like the Prime 4+ which you said could do stems either way!

i'm in the same spot as you, i think i'll go for the FLX-10, standalone systems are good but they lack the STEMS function wich i use a LOT with Serato

@@TomasMaldonado93 I also want to play around with stems which is why I was considering the Prime 4+ as it's the only standalone with built-in stems that can also control laptop stems! I'm also considering the XDJ AZ which I hear is rumored to be announced this Thursday so fingers crossed it's on the same wavelength in terms of stems and price lol. My laptop is really meant for gaming and not DJing as it has huge delay and freezes alot which is why I'm hell bent on getting a standalone.

Im not sure, but "I guess" Groove Circuit can be a kind of version of Roland DJ Controller 505/808 features...

Whats your favorite controller so far? I really enjoy my FLX 10. I really wish the STEMS on rekordbox would improve though. I personally wouldn't really recommend a controller that doesn't have XLR for gigs unless you have your own setup. Then again i'm sure most audio engineers would have TRS to XLR connectors laying around. But they might not be around when you need them.

The DDJ 1000 is probably still my GOAT, but the FLX10 does an amazing job going toe to toe with it. As for the outputs, these ones are way easier to work with than RCAs with the sound system guys haha

It all depends what you want in your DJing style! The GRV6 is still a niche controller for putting on shows. The FLX10 is a little more general

I found interesting personnaly that here Pioneer clearly is trying to bridge the gab for "bedroom" DJ going from their home controleur to CDJ (through similar layout and everything) while providing a unit that, as you said, is still a niche controller.

They are slow but steady…. I am impressed by the Traktor software… really by the one key effects and we can create infinite effects… I use my laptop keyboard for effects which I have created. I will put a video soon…

Hey DJCarlo, Could you please share why someone might choose the FLX10 over the upcoming GRV6? I understand that the GRV6 is missing certain inputs, so the sound card is probably more basic, right? Is there anything else that differentiates the two that I should consider before making a decision?

Yes on that front. Get the FLX10 if you want a more robust and long term controller, if you’ve a budget, if you don’t need these drum modes, if you want xlrs, if you want better build quality and if you want better quality everything (jogs, faders, etc.). If I had 2k to burn, I’m choosing the FLX 10. But if I’m on a tight budget and just want a solid controller, then I’ll get the grv6. Best long term decision is the flx10!

However I feel they could have done better with the out put and also add screen on the jog just to monitor the time of the playing track and the wavefront which will be make more appealing.

@@paasolo8202 100% if it had better inputs (for other decks) and outputs and jog displays I would almost buy it. The last problem with this is the pitch slider, the unit has lovely big jogs and tiny pitch sliders like the FL4, which makes it an instant no on this kind of unit for me!

A lot of higher tier controllers work with stems too, since it's based on the laptop software. You can also get the DDJ SP1 and use stems with full CDJs should you desire
