Respect! I like how you brought a number of opinions here, away from stereotypes, without negativity. Like you I am a Brit living in Germany, but much longer. I spent 2 months there last year, touring the south / south west and then north with my sister. My view: UK is diminished from leaving Europe, but in no danger of ‘dying’. It’s a non-political view - almost everywhere I encountered the decency and friendliness of people, and I think that will always endure, however difficult circumstances may be.
@marksimons88615 сағат бұрын
I tend to agree. It's not dying BUT 17 million people voted for a smaller economy, fewer jobs, fewer opportunities and a much lower standard of living, and lots and lots of immigrants from all over the world. As a retired person I asked my investment advisor to recommend funds for my savings to go into many markets across the globe. If any one of them should fall over then hopefully I can carry on. If there is a global economic catastrophe then we're all up the Swanee! I realise now "Global Britain" was surreptitious advice to get a good part of your savings out of the UK for good! The jingoism was just an appeal to the uneducated.

Brexit means less Europeans in the in UK and more immigrants from further afield like Asia and Africa, as well as less trade and economic activity in the UK. Plus the Brits have lost the freedom to travel, live, work, and retire across the entire continent. What a baffling decision that was.

@ you missed the point, the 1% is responsible for the conditions we all live under especially when wealth is pretty much one sided. We get taxed to the bone whilst the rich get tax cuts , the system is bleed dry and the middle class is eroding infront of your eyes. Politicians left and right selling off the country and starting culture wars to create smoke and mirrors they privatise our systems and sold off to highest bidder claiming to save the failing system that they depleted. We are being played by our own people whilst capitalism puts everyone including “boat people” under the same conditions. We have more in common with those boat people than we will ever have with the rich. Immigration is an issue but why ? Capitalism is working for one side more than the other. It’s by design and we act like it all appeared in thin air.

The problem is clear and simple: 1) We are facing a serious problem from Islamic fundamentalism. It is borderline impossible to differentiate between a moderate Muslim and an extremist Muslim. The "grooming gangs" inquiry from Telford, Rochdale and many more English towns, cities and villages are proof we have a problem. I repeat not ALL Muslims are a problem - but there is an issue. 2) We are experiencing a surge in illegal immigration - thousands are arriving on our shores year after year. These are mostly young males fleeing poverty, persecution and a hard life from mostly Sub-Saharan and Middle-Eastern nations. However, the problem is we have ZERO background checks on these people. Now, I am not saying they are ALL dangerous, but there is a good chance we will have more than a couple of bad apples amongst those that come here illegally or the "boat people" as the senior lady said in the video. 3) Women are starting to feel unsafe. As you`re living in Deutschland, that is Germany, why do you think the AfD is growing? Do you remember the 2015-16 New Year's Eve sexual assault scandal in Germany? Approximately 1,200 women were sexually assaulted by migrant men. Only a handful of these men were convicted!! Why do you think the National Rally is strong in France? Why does Sweden have the highest homicide rates in Europe after Ukraine? Simply look at the crime statistics for the Swedish city of Malmö!!! Why does Denmark have strict policies when it comes to non-EU immigration? Why has Poland reported ZERO domestic attacks, that is terrorist attacks? The police reports are very clear, the sudden crime spurges in Germany and Sweden are directly correlated to a certain influx of migrants from non-EU countries.

I said this before but it's mind-boggling to me that "politician" is pretty much the only job where there's absolute no accountability whatsoever ... Like if a doctor mess up an operation, he can go to jail ... if an engineer builds a bad bridge, he can go to jail. But when politicians literally ruin an entire country's economy and engages in useless wars etc. they just blame something/someone else and move on, it's incredible!
