Oh definitely, the sound is like 90% of the reason you'd use an open air filter. I mean, you could use one and actually stick it somewhere it's getting constant cold air and it's fine but otherwise they're purely looks and sound

I agree tbh but its more the intake hoses that are hella restrictive especially on certain cars and open cone intakes are pretty much noise, while closed filters seem to do alot better for cold air feeds

Manufacturers also have to think about induction noise, production cost, durability, serviceability, under bonnet packaging as well as a host of other factors. Look at any production based racing car and you won’t find the standard road car airbox on the engine unless the regulations don’t allow it to be changed... True story.

Love it, I love the passatt anyway, but this is amazing. Nice to see something not usual. I'm currently working on my 3rd vw EOS, 2.0tfsi. The 1st wasn't good enough base for any upgrades so got sold, the 2nd (black one if you watch any of my videos) was almost ready for show season when the misses wrote it off. The current one is on 368bhp and 485nm torque, its stage 2 racing line mapped with racing line r600 cold air induction kit, racing line oil management system, racing line injectors, APR hpfp, apr sports cat, APR coil packs, gfb vta diverter valve, gfb light flywheel, venom ko4 hybrid turbo, quaife helix lsd, audi s4 brake kit front and rear, apr pcv, custom stainless exhaust built by infinity at Castle combe, plus fee other bits ive probably forgot, I'm going to get a different turbo on it next year though, maybe the TTE 480+, first I need better tyres though, and contemplating wether to refit the air ride kit or just go good coilovers set, also have the scirocco interior, and r line front end, but still not made my mind up on it yet 😉

I have the same car but I'm so tempted to turbo mine but here in Australia people have no clue about these motors! the same experience he explained about him been stuck on the seat you can even do it stock by launching it. Mines done over 220,000kms no issue long as you service it which i do by myself every 7500kms.
