A friend of mine took a 500cc 2 stroke for a ride here in NZ back in the 80's... Took it back to his friend at the bike shop and asked he NEVER let him ride one again... Top gear on a back road in Masterton (used historically for NZ speed records)... opened the throttle a little more at what he thought was top speed and almost fell off the back as it did a wheel stand. (I believe at the time NZ was one of the last places in the World racing 500cc 2 pokes...). (Edited - I was thinking the bore was bigger, but it was the fact that the 500's were beating 1200cc 4's that stuck in my head.... I'll just stick to my old YZ250's

That's the million dollar question. Seriously tho, it's a bit lighter, the displacement is a bit bigger (for extra torque) and of course it lacks circa 25hp compared to a 1999 gp bike. It would be interesting to have a fast and knowledgeable rider test both and then report extensively. Surely tho the Suter has more electronics so it's safer and quite a bit tamer

Without even watching this video, I laugh at the title of this being the ultimate 2-stroke. Honda settled this argument with their amazing 500cc 2-strokes that dominated the competition in the hands of Mic Doohan. Having said that, this bike looks and sounds great. But to be the ultimate, call up Honda and challenge them on one of their 500cc bikes at the track. They can get one of these out of bug wrap and put Rossi on it as he is the only current active rider to have raced a 2-stroke. Let Rossi ride both bikes back to back and you'll have the winner. This i would love to see.
