So much value being provided on your channel! This is the exact dream i've started to create for myself over the past year in the Rocky Mountains (Canadian Version) and I am so glad I found you! I haven't started a KZbin journey, just IG, but I may need to start.

So good! Great reminder that the most expensive GM lens is necessary to create extremely high quality films.

Thanks for sharing. Why is 4K important for you? For me, I don’t think it matters much (besides filling up memory cards and hard drives way too fast), but I get it if your clients are asking for 4K or other specific formats. I really agree with your final note about not caring too much about gear-use what you have or buy used. Most of my films were shot on my old Nikon DSLR, and they made it into film festivals and even won a couple of prizes. Even though I really appreciate shifting to the Sony FX30 recently, storytelling and audio matter way more. 🙂

Thanks for all the videos man! It's inspiring. I was curious about the tripod, it's a problem deal with sand, hard environments and keep it for too long?

awesome vid! Do you shoot in slog or in the standard picture profiles on your a7siii when filming in outdoor adventure situations? I know s-log is the highest quality but I find it difficult in changing light situations, like outdoors. What camera settings do you recommend? Thanks so much!

Great question! I always shoot in slog-3 on my a7siii since I find it does the best job of all the picture profiles at maintaining the highest dynamic range. When filming outside, sometimes the lighting conditions can be pretty difficult so having as much information as possible in color grading is great. I normally apply a slog3 to rec 709 conversion LUT from Sony's website to start the color grading process since color grading straight from log can be a bit tricky! Hope this helps!

@@roosmith6 Thanks so much for the great response! When editing slog from outdoor scenes, do you have to adjust exposure every time the sun/light changes in post? Currently I shoot in auto iso (Canon) so in post the exposure is relatively the same over a long (20+min) shoot, but dynamic range is somewhat limited. Do you know if it is possible to shoot in slog3 with an auto exposure setting? Thanks again!
