Terrific information. Been thinking of automating. Thanks

Awesome video. I like how you keep this simple too. A lot of the home automation guys run their system with a dedicated home assistant server or something, but it looks like you just use Alexa for everything, which is what I want to do

@@RicksTechReviews do u recommend automatic blinds that connect to Alexa? Also one area you didn’t cover, I use an air filter (levoit) and it connects to Alexa. I automatically have it turn on periodically throughout the day and evening (needed in a big city lol).

The air filter is a great idea. For smart blinds I have just posted a video on my channel about a roller shade driver this does require an Aqara usb hub though, but then you are able to control it through your Alexa with your voice or routines. Hope this helps.

Great video! By the way, try the new nanoleaf skylight. I have it in my setup, and the dynamic lighting adds a whole new dimension to my smart home experience.

Do you struggle with too many devices on your wifi? Or have you upgraded your router at all?

I use quite a lot of Zigbee devices, but I do have a budget mesh network that I use this was more for coverage in my home than devices though, but it does give you the option to add more 🙂
