I have followed your channel for a long time and I just want to say, as a MK1B owner, I appreciate that you still make content on our car make/model, the car is only getting rarer and as someone who absolutely loves their car... learning more about it has been difficult to do. There is a distinct lack of easily digestible resources. Except for your channel. You make it very easy to learn more about my car. So thank you very much. Keep driving for answers. :)

Good sir... I've got nearly 2 decades of AW11 ownership under my belt and I am absolutely happy to share my knowledge. TwosRUs has a lot of parts for the AW11 included upgraded drop links (end links). These are made by a company called High & Tight. I had to get these as I bent 3 of my 4 original end links. The High & Tight endlinks not only stood up to my less than gentle driving through canyons, but also had no issues with handling the couple times that I jumped my AW11. I also ran Koni Yellow struts and Eibach ProKit springs, but also had the full TRD bushing kit, front & rear strut braces and Suspension Techniques front and rear anti-roll bars.

Hey my friend. I would absolutely love a video explaining suspension tuning. Stuff to cover would be, why stiffer springs are beneficial or stiffer anti roll bars. How alignment adjustments affect drive characteristics. How height and tire size or offset change drive ability. Just an idea!
@wholespeed3 жыл бұрын
First let me start off by saying your knowledge is very good. Secondly, I love that you have a channel dedicated to the AW11 MR2. Lastly, Twos RUS also offers drop links for the AW11's here in the US.
@Harry_z32 жыл бұрын
I've had nothing but trouble from these. First time I got them the threads were full of swarf and completely messed up which I had to buy a tap to clean them with. When installing them the bolt sheered when being torqued to factory settings and when finally on the car the front ones came loose constantly and rubbed against the body work of my car leaving considerable damage (and I had installed them the way they are installed in this video.) I tried asking Andrew, the creator of these, how he installed them and he said he would respond to me within a week. it has been months of radio silence, apart from the fact he still uploads to Instagram and posts stories of what beers he drinks. I feel completely scammed out of the money I gave him and have actually been better off buying a set of drop links by searching for them using measurements rather than looking for a set specific to the car.
@shaneynereneyne4493 Жыл бұрын
Honestly I don’t see why more people have done this over the years. Just take the measurements they need. And maybe post the ones they used lol. Anyone? Lol

My AW11 didn't come with a rear anti-sway bar. I researched the merits of using one and the general consensus was that it was not worth it for the daily driving car that it was for me. Your MR2 sure sounds tasty!
@ymsmmnt4 жыл бұрын
Maybe for a daily driver you don’t want full race spec “beefy” sway bars, but I think it is nice to have at least OEM style both front and rear installed. You will notice the stability improvement over not having anything and, in general, ride comfort does not become a whole lot worse.

The front ones are definitely too short. You can see the sway bar being pulled upwards as the suspensión compresses instead of being twisted as it should. Another question is why did you made that rear DIY drop links so long? Does not sway bar angle theoretically have to be parallel to the ground when suspension is at ride height? I have found myself a lot of times in that situation of not finding the right parts or the oem ones are very expensive and/ or doesn’t fit when the car is modified. Is always great to have at least a small group of enthusiasts that make good quality parts for cars that aren’t mainstream. Keep up with your videos, I enjoy watching them a lot.
@d4a4 жыл бұрын
The length of my DIY ones is based on the stock length. When the car is down on the ground the rear sway bar was close to level.

So you should have got some Heim Joint kits and welded a tube to them or threaded a bar directly to them at whatever length you wanted. All RageRacing did was get some Heim Joints and thread a bar to them. Not really that impressive or innovative. It's common place in road racing, just like the red tie rods you have on the car that were in the video. Also, don't install sway bar end links with the car in the air. Should be setting on the ground with the suspension loaded and have driver weight so they can be installed without any preload. Heim Joint Kits smile.amazon.com/s?k=Heim+Joint+KIT
