The Ultimate Beginner Guide To Maplestory | MapleStory | GMS | BTS

Earlier this week Nexon announced a collaboration with BTS, a korean Kpop band. And I’ve seen a lot of people who are excited to jump into the game and check out what the hype is all about! But MapleStory is a pretty old and complex but fun game. So we made this guide and aim to help new players along the way. If you played MapleStory a couple of years ago and are coming back then this video might still be useful to get a hang of things again.

I played Maplestory hardcore from grades 8-11 and then on and off from then on (I'm currently 25 for context) and I still have no idea how to play it. I just smash buttons and admire the sparkly graphics.

Maplestory has changed a lot in the past years... I have played maple as a child , I have spent many hours grinding and having fun with my friends but also with other maplers, I miss that time. Now I am an grown up man not having a lot of time to play games anymore due to work, studying and my girlfriend. I will not forget the great times I had and would love to play the game one day again. The game just ain't the same no more. After sinking hours into the game I have decided to move on and realize that my childhood is indeed gone. Reboot isn't the same as those feelings we had back then. Even if we were playing pre-bigbang today, it's still not going to be the same. Why? Because we've grown up and everything is different now. People change, games change, it's time to move on.

MapleStory is a game where people quit and come back especially during the summer. It’s been like this for years or maybe even a decade. So the player base might be a bit lower when it’s not summer.

@@hcnMWC to be fair I do that a lot. I invest a bunch of time at once and burn myself out and then return and repeat. I usually return during burning events to level up characters for link skills and then I just disappear until another event. Once I get all the link skills I want I'll finally main something lol

I feel like coming back to this game but its been almost 3 years now. I had been playing on the Reboot servers before. I've always enjoyed my time with the game but always bounce off it. I can't quite find a job I enjoy enough to keep going. Thanks for the nice video. It at least helped refresh some info for me but I dont know what I'll be doing just yet. If anyone has any advice or suggestions I'd be glad to get it! I really don't have any strong feelings about playing on Reboot or elsewhere. Same with the various jobs. I guess I should at least boot up the game to help remember what I've tried out.

Quick travelling for beginners without hyper teleport rock: Town DImensional Mirror > Mushroom Shrine > Six Path Crossway > Pantheon Portal

Or just maple guide, since if you get the stamps, you can travel at high levels as well. I use the copper drake maple guide to get to six path crossway quickly.

Monster Park and Maple Tour are both great ways to level up and earn mesos! You can access them through the Dimensional Mirror that's located almost in any town.

If you are a total beginner, best is not to start off with a combo class such as blaster or Mercedes or zero unless you want your fingers to hurt after playing.

Friendstory @ lvl 100! Not for the quest itself, but if you get to the part where you can move (inside the house in Henesys) then you now have a free teleport to Henesys from any town with a Dimensional Mirror! I use this in combination with Pantheon for quick travels everywhere ^__^

Like he said if you're new look up the current skills of the characters cus you'll spend years on your main. Also if you don't know what class to main start with mercedes as her link ability gives your others more exp gain

OH MY GOD I used to play Neosaurs too!! It was the first mmorpg game i ever played back when I was a kid and enjoyed playing games on Facebook. I remember being very depressed when it shut down and I actually did found out about Maplestory’s existence, but i couldnt play it due to my laptop not being compatible to run the game. I know this will trigger people but I greatly prefer the mobile version, it basically plays itself but you can take control but i just enjoy the auto battle since lets be honest the grinding in MS makes u feel like a bot anyway
