Why is jet washing such a big topic with cyclist?! If you damage your bike with a jet wash, you are either to dumb to handle a jet wash correctly or something was not okay on your bike in the first place

I remember when I first started working as a team mechanic, in the late 80s for Team GB. There were no 'team bikes' everyone had a different bike, if someone had a puncture you had to send the punctured tubular back to the federation as 'proof'. It was grim. Working for a Pro Team was a revelation, but still pretty shitty.

Team trucks and busses are always interesting. I will definitely try the trick with the degreaser and the brush. Shimano should invest a few grams and make the roadie brakes more like the MTB brakes. My XTRs need practical no service. At some point they start to squeak and usually I‘m on the metal spring between the pads at that point and they need new pads.

Just got round to watching this video now, having just subscribed to EF Education etc., etc., etc.🙄😉 Loved it, but didn't feel comfortable with the 'bike maintenance' guys being called 'bike mechanics'.🤨 I know that they refer to themselves as the same, but I think that it's about high time they were referred to as 'cycle technicians'. After all, bikes are a lot more oomplex these days, with electroncs, hydraulic hoses, power metres, disc brakes etc. We need to acknowledge the important and highly technical maintenance that they provide, in a time restrictive enviroment. Great work guys.👍
