Awesome equipment Greg. I'm starting up my journey with Photography. Yes I'm still using a G85. But something is better than nothing. I love how you edit your productions and talk so fluent to the camera. Always a fan Greg. Keep it up and Stay Miating!

Like I mentioned twice in this video, this is by no means what people SHOULD have to make films. I've seen some extremely talented and creative people use the most barebones of equipment to make some amazing stuff. And I've been a part of productions with equipment a big step above what I use here, and it's been garbage. So it's really more about the people behind the cameras. This video was just to speak directly to people in my specific position of being asked to shoot 80 or 100 shots in a single production day. What I got most irritated with my own performance on set was how long it would take for me to switch over the camera to what a director asked for. So I fixed that. Mostly by throwing money at the problem, but I did use the last 2 months of lockdown to build and rebuild this rig over and over AND OVER, until I found a way to make it fast and easy on set. I think most people learn best by doing. You can read books or talk to people, but the only way you truly learn is by doing. Whether that's cars or cameras. You screw up, and learn how not to do something, and then you learn how to do it right. If you never screw up, you never know the consequence of not doing something properly. And I've screwed up. A LOT. For the last 20 years. Hopefully, I'm finally starting to do things right. Thanks for the comment.

@@goodeggproductions i can't agree with you more Greg. I hope you know I'm a fan of your channel. I've seen just about every video you shot. But I agree. Work with what you got at first. There are always ways to be creative with DIYs as long as its productive. I've seen some short films done with the G85. Some I like a another while some not that creative. Experience goes a long way though. Understanding your current equipment and editing tools are vital. The only way to get better at anything is by just doing. My channel is generally about the Reef hobby. But my last few vids has been about Time-Lapse photography. Still learning a lot. Wish I had a teacher for certain things though. I'm self taught about photography. Got lots to learn. I'm also interested in videography. Trying out things. Are you in a current project for another short film Greg? Thanks for the heads up man. Stay Miating!

@@Meldium I've got several projects coming up in the next few months. Production on some of the things had to be pushed back so far because of the pandemic. The entire entertainment industry is basically dead right now. It's going to be another 6 months before you go to a movie theater and see a big budget major film. And that's really sad. We'll have to wait so much longer for films that are already done and ready to show, but no distribution company will want to release them to 1000 screens with 1/2 capacity seating. So they'll wait until they can show them on 4000 screens with full seating. I'll check out your channel! As far as Miataing... I'll never not own one. I've been wanting to do some lighting stuff on the ND, but procrastinating for no good reason. And I have an exhaust for the NA on forever backorder since March. Who knows if I'll ever receive it.

@@goodeggproductions yeah I bet its bad for all budget filming. Cast and crew couldn't be so close. I heard there was a spike recently in Hollywood or California. Don't remember where. I mean even for photographers the pandemic hit bad too. I couldn't do nothing here Upstate NY. I'm glad you'll never let go of the Miatas. Ill forever dream to want one. I have a 2012 Mazda 3 GT. Done some mods to it motor mounts, intake and exhaust. Thats it. But if I had a Miata I know I'd definitely go a lot further. Ppl ask for too much here. 6-7k for an NA. A bunch of cheap autos but ill never own an Automatic. Manual to the day ill die. Well keep doing what you do Greg. As always... Stay Miating!
