I love the interior. I have the M Carbon fiber in my 440i. It keeps the sun refection down and that was one of the main reasons I went with it. The wheel you have looks great. If I did it I'd go non lights only because I like a clean look. Great video Justin. Nice car.

Looks amazing. I started watching your channel cause I had an e90 for a while & when I sold it to get an e46, I kept watching cause your tutorials are so easy to follow. Everything is clear, you can see everything, has good lighting/audio, you definitely take your time & put a lot of effort in the quality of your videos. Now you have an f30 but I keep watching everything lol

@@justinbuice oh no, most tutorials on KZbin the person is doing everything pov with one hand, no lighting, no tripod & no good audio. Sometimes not even showing how to get to a certain part of the car, they'll just say "I took it apart before I started recording to save time" or "Go to my other video so you can see how I took it apart" It's nice having everything in one video.

Great Mod. In general the pre-2016/pre-LCI F3X steering wheels are slimy leather. The BMW matte leather is so much better. Some drivers like matte leather, all alcantara, or a alcantara mix. So custom BMW steering wheels are a common upgrade. The transfer of the steering wheel hardware between the old and new steering wheels is not so simple. A tip is that the silver T-20 screws go into the front of the wheel and the black screws go in the back. Don't over tighten any T-20 screws, since everything is plastic. Photograph the steering wheel during disassembly. Also have a code reader handy, to clear any codes after the steering wheel install. The blue electrical connectors don't come apart easily. You need precision mini flat screwdrivers to make it easier. Also remember to tuck all the wires under the plastic top trim, so there is no interference when the round airbag is reinserted. For this steering wheel install, it might be easy to replace the cabin air filter under the dash at the same time. Also add your favorite shift paddle upgrades at the same time. Evolve Automotive/MMR billet paddles are really nice. New Venoxy BMW F3X/F8X colored instrument gauges are awesome.

You should replace the trim in the back of the steering wheel with a M4 one with the split. That what you can see trough it like its intended.

Looking at a used 340i or 440i around 30-50k miles coming from a e84 n55 X1 anything I should look out for?

With that low of milage you should still be covered under BMW’s factory warranty (4 years/ 50k miles). When you test drive it, listen for a scratching or rattling sound around the center console that’s caused by the parking brake cables rubbing on the driveshaft. It’s only an $8 part but it’s a pain in the butt to replace

Yup 😅 Kies installed the regular M Sport wheel shortly after I bought the car. I had mentioned to them recently that I was looking into buying this wheel and they ended up sending this out for me to install and review. I do wish there was a leather option though.

It’s a multi function gauge that can display coolant temp, oil temp, 0-60 time and a few others. In the video it’s set to boost pressure

It does a lot more than just shift lights indicator wich really helps. Has a G force measurement for taking curves. Shows you the water and oil temp so you know when the car is ready to push hard. Has multiple timer modes. Fuel efficiency mode with shift point indicator. Show MPG, etc. And most of all it looks DOPE! 😄.

I’ll have to report back in a couple months on how the steering wheel is. For the dash trim I just dust it off with a dry microfiber towel every so often

It is not hard at all I have the same wheel. But even my previous wheel was alcantara. You still have to treat it with care. You can’t be eating greasy food and touching your wheel! 😄. If you have a problem with sweaty hands then it may get dirty more. But just keep a bottle of hand sanitizer in the glove box and clean your hands if you get in the car and notice you have dirty hands.

No, unfortunately the display wheel does not have the heating element built in. You can still install it but the button will no longer be functional
