I can charge my e-bike pretty easily with solar. Having the ability to charge up your vehicle without any external power is also a plus. Also the voltage is WAY better than a percentage meter for battery accuracy.

Where ever you are going, there's probably a road to there. A secondary conveyance for your bug out plan makes a lot of sense, even it if is a pair of roller skates.

On the Survival Dispatch channel we all use e-bikes for SHTF scenarios.. I have a Brawn but prefer my Troxus LYNX

X, there's probably a lot of fitment adjustments you could do to help comfort. You're correct about that seat. I tried a bunch before I found a WTB from a bike shop and their help. The dropper seat post might need bleeding? You need some help from a channel member that's an avid cyclist or mountain biker. That bike, in my opinion, is a commute bike. Streets and paved trails at the most. And those handlebars are definitely not for trails. Way to narrow.

I am seriously considering this bike, or one like it in the future when a I move to a new house, in another State. Just wanted to say: I would wear a helmet whenever riding a bike. Very important to protect your head! 👍 I will buy elbow and knee pads when I get one as well. About the screen, it might save power by not being color or lit up? My guess. Always have a headlamp and other flashlights for night riding.

I'll take the surron for e bike/ dirt bike. I don't have to fight with gas in the gas station .plus, it's quiet

If you have a bugout cabin with a solar panel and an extra charger for the bike you'd be set to run that thing for a few years.

I actively have a bicycle I use for touring(traveling) and can be setup in 2 minutes or less for a potential bugout scenario, utilizing racks and panniers). Should a CME or EMP be something we have to deal with it will come in handy fersher.

If it was a serious bug out situation……Stopping to charge a bike multiple times is too risky because in those situations people start wanting to take things from people. I would be all about avoiding confrontations to reserve ammo.

I concur. But it is a bike. So when the battery wears out you can keep pumping or scrap the bike

In SHTF you want to be as self sufficient as possible (obviously), so if there's an ability to have the battery able to be hooked up to SOLAR panels for recharging, that'd be very nice... 🤔

If you're less concerned about handling off-road terrain, combining an electric cargo bike with trailer with a self-actuating solar panel could get you a long way while letting you carry a large amount. There are all terrain trailers too with better manoeuvrability, but you'll be sacrificing speed & capacity for that.

Use a normal bicycle. No battery to recharge. Just need to be in shape. Which is a good idea when shtf anyway.

yeah or a hard-tail mountain bike with some decent low gearing so it doesn't turn into an anchor when it dies

Loved my old xr200. Recently grabbed a used in great shape drz400s. Its awesome. Whats that new 125 honda moped that would be a good option. I think yamaha is making 1 now also

Dependency on gas in a SHTF situation will not be good. Plus the motor is extremely loud and could be heard from miles out, giving your location away to possible adversaries. The electric bike is far more versatile, as you can pedal if the electric runs out, or you can look into getting solar panels to somehow recharge it, thus leaving you fully independent of the system, which is ideal in SHTF. Throw the e-bike in the back of a truck, and that'd be great for SHTF situation, imo.

The weight of a battery along with the recharge time you'll need to top it up, makes and e-bike a nonstarter. It's simply not worth the effort of maintenence, especially if there was an EMP the rendered it useless. It would just be dead weight. I'll take a Surley Big Dummy over anything electric.
@Kalergiplansupporter11 ай бұрын
So just buy two batteries and then you can interchange them and not even stop while you're charging them if you have a portable battery bank which you should if you're a prepper.
@iReturnV1deotapes11 ай бұрын
@@Kalergiplansupporter Are we talking about the same kind of batteries here? I'm talking about the battery used to power the bike. Not a power bank..

Bug out where? Hahaha people talking about bugging out, when the best option is to rebuild what you got. You cannot bug out society in its entirety and spending money in stupid stuff decreases the best bug out vehicle: cash.
