HE MENTIONED MY CAR!!! (I'm a 96 GT mustang) fyi if you're not scared of a head swap the 96-98 is better with the 99-04 2v heads, raises compression and with a good stage2/3 cam they can make almost 400 NA easy. But fyi the rods WILL go around 400-450 wheel, and you'll need rods and pistons to make more, the GT crank is also only really good to 600 wheel, and they hate being spun past 7000 RPMs, but a stock cobra cam (any cobra 96-04 would have it) you're good up until you bust the bock, which stock can safely handle almost 1100 wheel depending on how you make it, generally 1000 is safe on the GT iron block.

~2007 Toyota Prius As much as it pains me, my wife picked up a salvage titled Prius in 2011 for work. She sold it very easily (took 1 day) for $2,000. It had no inspection, a broken window, only 1 hubcap, and the paint was peeling off. But mechanically, never failed. If you got one of these as a commuter car or work as a delivery driver, you can easily get 50+mpg in a car that isn’t uncomfortable. Hers even had a backup camera (in 2007?) I would assume one in pristine condition with not a lot of miles would still hold close to $5k and you could sell it a year later for the same money

I've found it easier to find the S60 2.4T and 2.5T than any of the P80 cars. The RN engines from 2004+ are also stronger and easier to tune (as long as you are mindful of the 2.5L engines in the SR/VR and the 2.5T), plus you get CVVT! If you get a 2.5L Volvo "Whiteblock", be mindful of heatsoak with the intercooler that can cause cracked engines, especially on the 300hp "R" cars. You'll want to shim the engine block in the siamese section of the cylinder liner to prevent cracked blockes if you want to go any higher than 315hp, but ohhhh is it worth it for that sweet sweet I5 roar

Weird you guys mentioned the B5 S4, but didn't mention one of its (and the B6's) competitors: the 02-04 C32 AMG. Supercharged V6 with 350 hp and RWD. Basically a baby W211 E55 AMG. The engine and trans are practically bullet-proof, and overall the car is a lot more reliable than the B5 S4. And you can still get a tune and pulley for them that'll put you around 400 crank hp. The biggest factory problem with them was really bad rust due to Mercedes'/Chrysler's penny pinching, specifically on the 02's and some 03's. The leaky Valeo radiators contaminating the trans fluid was another problem on the 02's, but any car that's still running today probably had that addressed at some point long ago unless it has really low miles. I've seen C32's with high miles (150k) but in otherwise decent condition pop up in the $3.5k-$6k range the last several years.

The white Volvo v70 t5 used to be mine. The clips of it were taken shortly after I parted with it. I'm glad I know the owner now and he's taking good care of it! Should never had sold it 😔

as a 8th gen civic owner, all 8th civics need to look quite good is some wheels, coil overs and maybe a lip kit.

Some clean enkeis or xxrs. Keep up with paint and mod the interior to your liking and you'll be looking hella fresh.

The sis get a lot of hate for their looks because of the regular civic.

im kinda surprised the 6th gen taurus didnt make this list. Its comfy its got a number of more modern features for infotainment like bluetooth. heated and cooled seats were relatively common options. 250ft-lbs at 1500 rpm, and a pretty solid drivetrain. i can find 2010 limiteds for 4500-5000 and i just got an interceptor sedan with the 3.5l ecoboost for 4,500

old 2000s models of the Volkswagen Passat (B5-5.5) are very cheap right now, I believe they typically come with the 1.8T, the V6 with 4motion, these are under $5000, and there are the uncommon 2.0TDI Common rail Diesels which typically are as cheap as the others, on top of these are the very rare 2.5TDI V6 Diesels and the also very Rare W8, these would probably be more expensive assuming you actually found one. the Diesels and 4motions unfortunately only come in automatic, you would have to import a manual if you want one, but the W8 came with 6spd AWD manuals, but again, these are very rare. The B5-5.5 passats come in Sedans and Wagons, and look fantastic.

This list is incomplete without mentioning the Altezza imo. I may be a bit biased butttt....

Needed Lexus ls400 or gs430, that 1uz tho. Needed g35 coupe and sedan too, but glad that he mentioned mustangs and trans ams. Cheap lightweight manual v8 coupes that need to be noticed :)
