TOPIC: I always get the question... What comics would you buy to have your in your collection? I answer this and more in todays video. I also give the grade point average for these comics, as well as an explanation why. I've excluded the Golden Age of Comics from this video simply for the fact the average collector may find these unattainable. But Included are MY Silver Age, Bronze Age, and Copper Age comics that i want to own in my collection... FOR THE LONG TERM! It's a long but rewarding video for anyone who's asked me the question.... This was an awesome list you created, I have many of the same books on my list. I have probably some more Copper age books on my list mostly due to nostalgia but I don't think you had one book on this list that I would not be hyped to own myself.

Hey Lawrence, I love your videos all the time they are awesome. Well I believe I have told you back in the day at the New York comicon. I still have my tales of suspense 39, 8.5 that I only paid $5300. Amazing Spider-Man. 1 6.5 I bought that for $4200 and my amazing fantasy 15 6.0 no marvel chipping presents much better. I only paid $4000. These were all New York City comic con.. I still own these, and believe it or not years ago I picked up RAW X-Men 1 7.0 for only $300 the last copy on eBay sold for $40,000. I still have all of these..

One thing I i think people don't consider in regard to modern comics is, Eventually , the next generation or the generation after that may want these book And even though there's high print runs right now it Might not be Enough to fulfill demand in forty five years. I kind of think this is why certain key issues from the bronze age and copperage Have went to such high prices.Because there's more people that want them With the next generation getting into collecting. There could be a hundred thousand copies of an issue but if there's over a million people that want to add issue that's gonna go as high As people are willing to pay for that book. Great list!! Having a long-term list super tight makes a ton of sense if anyone doesn't know where to start or narrow down especially for most with limited funds (me included). Buy the titles you love to start. You know I all those FF's already and feel fortunate to have gotten the last few years. Just got my FF48 too! Glad I waited for prices to come down to more affordable. Let's hope they do justice in the movie. The hype is pretty high but I think they nailed the cast so far. Talk soon. D

Your missing Swamp Thing 37 You know who it is. John outgrew swamp thing very quickly. Hellblazer 1 is another. I'm of the position that both Marvel & DC are dipping into thier horror lines now that the superhero bubble is popping. Marvel has the Midnight Sons & DC The Justice League Dark. Constantine will float to the top as the best of both horror lines. He's the leader of the JLD, As such, his books will will have a moonshot before they come back down. But I'm expecting them to just keep climbing.

Wonderful list! I appreciate the fact that you aren't a grade snob and are helping people realize that low-grade silver age books are great for the average or new collectors to get into the hobby. I agree with Surfer #4 being on the list (best cover of all time), but would you rank it higher than Surfer #1?

I have some of those books and the others should have bought them back in 2000, most of them were cheap. in 2005 i could have gotten a low grade AF15 for $1500 and didnt pull the trigger and opted for an ASM 1 1.0 for $799, nowadays the prices are inflated like our economy😂

I think your videos are great, and I agree with almost everything you state in them with the exception of ASM#129, which, to me, is really a minor key. I agree it has a nice cover, but that's it. Many collectors could care less about the Punisher.

X-Men #1 is definitely a lot scarcer in 5.0 and above than most realize. When I see copies of X-Men #1, they're usually in low grades like 2.0-3.5. I just don't see many copies in 5.0 and above. I disagree about FF #1. It's the beginning of the Marvel Age of Comics. It doesn't get much better than that! I happen to like the cover of FF#1, and it's one of the only 10 cent Marvel comics along with TTA #27 and FF #2.

About 29% of the copies are graded at 5.0 or higher. That's typical though of a massive silver age key. Hulk 1 for example has a third of the total graded copies compared to X-Men 1 and also has that same number of 29% of grades at 5.0 or better.

I think Amazing Spider-Man #129 definitely doesn't belong on your Bronze Age list. The Punisher is really just a "C"-list garbage character. I don't believe that collectors really care as much about him given the book has collapsed in price over the past year or so. I'm sooo glad I dumped my copy of Amazing Spider-man #129 over 2 years ago!

Just curious. Holding these books for the long term 20yrs. Who do you envision buying these books? Boomers (the richest generation with assets) will be dead. GenX & millenials are financially struggling now?
