They played a small(ish) rock club in Gothenburg, Sweden, where I worked touring with this album. This song hit like a ton of bricks and on the instant I felt like they were on to something huge. Few weeks after the show the song got a big push on MTV and the rest is modern day rock hsitory. Oh, memory lane!!!!

I’m only sad you didn’t have the version with *fuckin* special in it. The real version he doesn’t say he’s *very* special. Fuckin fits the spirit of the song so much better. Great reaction friend! And don’t worry about not having an anthem being a cool hot guy. Ha! It’s more about something we all experience, desperately wanting that one special person to love us back, but we know they never will, so we just hang back and feel like a weirdo. We just watch while they go off with someone else because we love them so much that we want them to have whatever makes them happy, even if it’s not us, but we still wish we were fuckin special enough for it to have been us.

Thom Yorke is the lead singer and the mad genius songwriter of Radiohead. Paranoid Android is the hit track off of their biggest album OK Computer, and really shows off Yorke's vocal abilities.

I think you're ready! You should react to the one and only vocal juggernaut, Layne Staley. Alice In Chains, Love Hate Love Live at the Moore Theater. Arguably the best metal vocal performance on video. Thanks!

Go and see Prince’s cover of this at Coachella. The man did a few cover in his lifetime. Radiohead was one of his favorite bands. Not because of Creep but because of what came after. You wouldn’t even imagine. This song is commercial shite. They did it to break through and then switched to electronic music and other weird fusion. They’re one of the greatest bands ever.

He's in Love but cannot approach her because in his own mind, she's gonna reject him anyways because of how he feels about himself. I'm not a huge Radiohead guy, but "Paranoid Android" and "There There" are amazing songs...the first, because of the interesting lyrics, intense instrumentation, and incredible solos, and the second, because of the strong, tribal feel that lives throughout it. I'd check those two out. P.S. I believe the Bieber-looking guy is Jonny Greenwood, who did that amazing score for There Will Be Blood.

It may seem like such a minor thing, but the difference between the edited version "You're so very special. I wish I was special" and the unedited version, "You're so fucking special. I wish I was special" is huge. It completely amplifies the level of self loathing that Thom Yorke has when he sings this. And it seems like such a small change. And yeah, this song came out before Justin Beiber was even born.
