Nice setup you have built! I do it the hard way still. I was given 28 trees that were almost 50 years old. I hauled 6 tons at a time and it took approx 15-20 loads to get all the wood. All of that went fine. Now I have to cut all of it to 19" pieces and haul them over to my splitter. The wood is about 800 feet from my barn. I decided to load up my dump truck with cut up logs and haul it to the splitter. I would love to buy a complete processor but the Easton made is $15,000. I think I will build a processor. The only thing I want to do different is have a hydraulic saw. I have a stihl 271 farm boss and I love it. I just hate to have to crank it over and over. Thanks for the great video!

I did it the hard way for years and still do it that way at times. It sure is a lot of work. You are correct the price on these processors and wood splitter are way out of my budget. That's why I built this simple machine. Thanks for watching and have a great week.

Very nice roller setup. Nice and wide and good for staging a pile of rounds.

Thank you. I had that in mind when I built it. I think I need to add 2 more stringers in the centers to keep the smaller pieces from falling through. The distance between the stringers is 6 feet and the distance between the 2 racks is 2 feet. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

What a production line! If I had something like that I'd have to find something else for the grandkids to do. LOL. As it goes now, when they see Grandpa show up in his work clothes they know what's on the agenda for the day. Great one person operation. With two operators it would be something to see. Cutting and splitting would be just about synchronized.

I put the word out through friends I was looking for a conveyor and I found two in less than a day. The one I rebuilt was a 36' belt conveyor I gave $350 for and the other is a 36' hay I gave $150. There's still conveyors sitting on old farms out there, gotta keep asking and looking and one will turn up. Your processor is a sweet set up, anything to make it simplified is better than dragging it around on the ground. I'm building a 12' infeed conveyor for my 22-28 right now, always trying to make the process easier as I get older.

Good morning. After 40 years of cutting wood I'm finally getting it done easier lol. I've put the word out but not evidently to the right people lol. I have seen them on market place but usually way too much or to far away. I'll find one some day. Are you thinking a gravity conveyor to get the rounds to your splitter or like the one Mike Morgan was using...that big blue conveyor box? I like the idea either way.

@@BigelowWoodcraft It's 12' x 24" wide, has a double chain drive like most conveyors. It has a hydraulic drive motor, just unhook the lines from the Eastonmade log lift cylinder and put them on the conveyor. Then use the log lift valve to run the infeed. If I can process 12 foot or better of log at once I'm good with that, I store my wood in bags so I have to stop to move them anyway. Not in a hurry just don't want to kill my back anymore.

nice set up ,if you want to manage the sawdust ,remove the area you stand on and replace with a supported piece of expansed metal and put a tote underneath on a pallet to remove the the tractor or pull out ,no more ice build up or major sawdust build up

Jerry I made a similiar set up and have some videos of it you should check out. Something I think you should consider with yours that I show on mine is a "seatbelt" the winch pulling on the synthetic rope has tension, in theory if the cable snaps it falls to the ground, however if that hook came out of a log for whatever reason that would fly at you at a very high rate of speed. Mine is set so that if it happens it will stop next to and not reach the operator. Just an observation. Your video was one that I watched when making my set up.

Nice setup Jerry. You’ve got some time in building that. Pretty slick. I really like the bucking table, it’s on my list. It’s a winter wonderland here, keeping up with all of the livestock is a full time job right now

Nice setup! The bottle neck is the super split. You need a 4 way wedge minimum to make this a lot faster!

What about a piece of expanded metal as your landing, park a wheel barrow under the opening to let the sawdust drop straight through, and give you a place to stand with no ice and sawdust buildup??

Ingenious brother-just bought a log truck load of lodgepole tamarack and red fir for $2500-logs are 35' long- 13 to 14 cords split and stacked and was wondering how in the heck am i going to do this easily as possible-i found new gravity 10' convayers for about $300 a piece with metal stands-but the roller spacing is 12"-thoughts?-thinking of setting the stands up on quickcrete sonotube footings-and then converting harbor freight pick-up cranes to electric winches to lift the logs onto the rollers-had that idea in my head-came in and utubed that idea and found you-glad your video popped up-if i didn't have wood to burn in the winter the wife would drop me off at the mission-appreciate this video.

Great tour. Yea I’m sick of my 69 cube husky. Got a deal on it and I hate it lol. Looks like your saw was razor sharp (today) again lol. So basically you only bend over if your shoe comes untied. Makes a really hard job easy and fun. Thanks! ( what’s the temp ? )

Good morning Terry. That 441 was really ripping. I knocked the rakers down to about .035 it was jumping a bit. This time of year my boots slip on...no tying lol. It's about 4°

I can see where two people would be more productive but I find it good to block for a while and then split some and back and forth so that different muscles are used and give others time to rest...getting older! 🤣
