My favorite fashion bromance. I’d give COS a B - they have a polish I like. H&M definitely D - they sorta bore me and quality eh. Uniqlo an A partly due to their re:-enhanced quality and U always know what U gonna get - bought them all over the US in their big stores. (Ever seen Gu by the way?)

Zara is that brand where majority of items are D, BUT you can find there some really amazing pieces which are S-tier (both looks and quality). Some of the jackets are banger, some hoodies are banger. Jeans are decent quality as well. And pricing is reasonable for me.

Not really. Zara did a lot of cost cutting. Their 2024 shirts suck. Literally get strings after one time washing. H&M is nothing special but all their basics i can wear for like 2 years and i buy them 70% off on special. Good value for money ngl.

honestly you guys killed it. Zara's quality has dipped so much so I prefer Abercrombie for their designs/quality. Aime Leon Dore is overpriced but from a fashion POV some of their stuff looks great. Acne/Uniqlo are a bit more basic but if you want a quiet luxury outfit, you can't go wrong.

It would be interesting to also have Massimo Dutti in this list. As it's another mass market brand that is part of Inditex group, offers a lot of basics with with very good quality fabrics (many products made in Portugal, Spain, Italy) at reasonable prices (slighlty cheaper than COS).

Zara is definitely slept on, never had issues with their quality, especially their Origin line, also their fragrances, they do collabs with actual perfumers and push out great ones

Really interesting to hear your impressions and experiences of these brands. I was a little surprised at how low Zara was rated. The quality seems higher than H&M, and about equal to Uniqlo. Zara shopping takes alot more effort of trying many different things, but I have several things that are solid staples. For the last few years, I've been kind of underwhelmed by the quality and designs of Uniqlo. Even Uniqlo U. Feels repetitive. Needs a reboot IMO.

Yea I agree, I think rating clothing companies within their own categories would make a lot more sense, Fast fashion with other fast fashion, mass market with other mass market companies, premium high street, etc Comparing Acne with H&M in no world makes sense, because we shouldn't expect those two to be even close to equal in terms of quality.

Regarding Zara, I kind of agree, but Zara Origins has gone way up on the list since the daughter of the owner got the lead on the company (in my opinion). The quality is much better, and the price is still pretty decent for what you’re getting.

Great video, guys. Hope you two collab again in the future. Also, I'd love for you to make a video about the Marks and Spencer "Autograph" Collection. I used to see M&S as a brand aimed squarely at men aged 45 and over. But, in the past year or two they've introduced a lot of great pieces aimed at the 25-40 age range. The quality of the materials used (pure merino wool, pure lambswool, modal blend, pure supima cotton etc) and the construction are on point, in my opinion. And when you factor in the price of their offerings they're definitely a brand worth considering for any gent who prefers a more refined and timeless aesthetic.

I dont know which branches of these brands you guys shop but as a cheap customer buying only more affordable stuff, I find zara's stuff to be more consistent than h&m's. Several times I had issues with h&m's quality that I completely stopped buying from them. It's now either uniqlo or zara...or pull & bear...and speaking of, I would be so thrilled if you had a review of pull & bear products or other common high street brands in mid tier mass produced like fred perry, lacoste, calvin klein, tommy hilfiger.

Don’t know where all these zara hate comes from…. But i used to and will always love to shop there…. I also love the fact that you can always go hunt for a cool and exciting pieces which i think is always fun….. by recreating expensive pieces, add a bit of twist (which they always does) and offering them for much affordable price, for me that’s always the best place to shop from! In my very honest opinion, i mostly shop for footwears, bags and jackets and i think no other brand does better than what zara did!

My go to "Fast Fasion" brands are Uniqlo and Mango Man. I really like that they keep their designs classic and minimalistic and you are getting decent quality for the price. Also, I really like the higher end Skandinavian brands like Filippa K, NN07, Arket, Tiger of Sweden...

Zara can be a gamble that turns around amazingly. For example the wool trousers that Tim Dessaint wears often are amazing and I’m happy I was able to pick them up. You are right about Zara, in general. However, they have been into collaborations with interesting designers and ateliers. For example, the design and quality of Studio Nicholson for Zara are way above the standard of the basic Zara lines. There have been items with designs by James Caffman, new collectives with interesting Japanese inspired designs, etc. So, one cannot mark ZARA as a uniform brand.

Agreed for most of it but I rate Zara above H&M. Mainly because I always go for 100% cotton when I can - Zara clears H&M by miles and miles when it comes to 100% cotton pieces in my opinion. H&M pieces are paper thin and retain zero structure anywhere for me, it drives me crazy. Zara isn't perfect but when I touch the cotton I feel like, at the very least, there was an effort to make it decent lol.

Random technical question Harry, but how are you hooking up both SM7B's? I assume they're going into an interface, but which one do you use? I find it needs to have enough power to feed both mics properly off phantom power (with a Cloudlifter in the chain as well), but I haven't found a good one yet. Cracking content as always. I live in Singapore, the only decent and accessible Brands that I can go to the store and try it out are Zara and Uniqlo. My options are limited. H&M, cotton on, mango and pull&bear is absolute no go. If I don’t learn to adapt and buy from zara then my wardrobe will only have Uniqlo. Most of the stuff in Zara are not my cup of tea, once in a while I will find some hidden gems there but I had to be in physical store to feel and try it out. Just by scrolling photos aren’t accurate for Zara but works for Uniqlo. For me, Uniqlo for basics, zara for more trendy clothes. Also, I do look at massimo dutti.
