The best upgrade for my G29 along with the pedal springs. You have very creative mind. BIG THANK YOU. I was able to make it very clean with a M5 bolts on the sides and M4 on the bottom. It looks factory clean now and amazing, everything is accessible. I screw up something with the R3 an L3 buttons on the bottom and they don't work now, but don't really need them. Only for F1, but they are not essential.

@@Sals_Garage Definitely, and looks way better than the steering hub mod, also the ergonomics stay the same. Thank you for posting the video!!! I would suggest those who like to do this modification to remove the whole steering and put the back cover on while working on it. It prevents the mother board from damage and aluminum particles while cutting and grinding, also a lot easier to hold while working on it.

if you have a 3d printer there is a print with a relocation of the controls and paddle shifters that brings the control board Infront of the wheel and the paddles move out and closer to the larger diameter wheel.

Well that’s different. Was wanting a larger wheel. More truck sized for American Truck Simulator but was probably gonna miss loosing all my buttons. Gives me something to think about. Thanks

Already ordered it. I’ll try it with just the wheel first. I use the sim panel for ATS and voice command software so not needing as many buttons now. I’ll try it plain first before i go to cuttin. Thanks

I haven't seen that done yet. Usually I see the adapter. If the wheel feels secure then that's very cool. How's the FFB feel? I hear that when an adapter and aftermarket wheel is used there is some loss in detail. I'm curious how your modification feels.

Great job but please next time before you start grinding away at the wheel be sure to remove the motherboard. If the mobo isn’t removed you might damage it then it’ll be even worse than having an 11 inch wheel

That’s an awesome upgrade, sir. My question is if someone was willing to pay you and send you the materials. Would you do the conversion that you’re doing to yours as well for those of us that are not mechanically inclined and don’t have the tools to do what you’re doing would that be considerable or not. Miller light in Texas.

Question: Why did you think you had to remove the center part of the new wheel? Couldn't you have simply left the new wheel intact and used the center part of the G29 wheel, like you did, but sanded and rounded the edges to make it look nice, and screwed it down directly to the new wheel as it came?

It’s the hard to notice but I think slightly heavier. Many have been running aftermarket wheels without issues. So far I have had no problems and the experience is much better with a real life sized steering wheel.

Have you felt the power of the force feed back motors, that extra weight is nothing. I had to turn down the force feedback. It can be a bit too much.

Good question. You can do that but reaching the paddles and the buttons will be very difficult. This method makes the buttons easily accessible.

Conclusion if u wanted ur wheel broken forever and ur really sure then do this but if u don’t want that and u only play Eurotruck sim or Americantruck sim. Then just buy a shifter and a custom wheel. I know what ur guys gonna say it is more expensive but in my opinion it looks way better. And also u have to be careful with the size of the wheel and the placement of the buttons.
