I love the new green pipes, but it is not over yet. You can add a star, light up question mark box, half of Mario coming out or going into the pipes, gold coins. Can you put the large Mario against the back wall where the pipe is near the shirts, so it looks like Mario is going in the pipe. Keep up the great work.

Hey Rick, talked to someone at a convension that made big Audrey 2 plants. She used spherical floral foam as a base then Great Stuf spray foam for shaping. Might be a good start.

I’d say some type of wire framing with a think plastic sheeting layered over and the kind of foam cosplay people use to create the Piranha plants shape a true look. Those materials will keep it light for hanging. A bit of motion could easily be added to the mouth I’m sure

We agree, hulk doesn't go well there too much green on green Mario would be great We love your idea of him coming out a green pipe! My husband thinks for the piranha plants you should add additional tubes just for them so they don't block your air flow or mess up your air system. But we think they would look awesome! And maybe use foam to keep the weight down Styrofoam sculpted items look great and painted they hold up well

It'd be awesome if Matthew Beem ended up making giant sculptures for the pipes. He's done other giant sculptures for other creators. But making a Mario ceiling would also be awesome. Just imagine a 3d Mario landscape around the pipes. Keep up the awesome work.

Prop makers use those dense insulation foam sheets (pink, blue) stacked and glued together with drywall putty, paint etc. to finish and a pinch of oregano per your taste.

The black ceiling makes the store really dark, you should paint it blue, with clouds, create a sky just like in the Mario’s games, that would look sick.

Hey Rick as an a/c tech down In south Florida and in the industry for a few years I deal with drain line issues very often. Best to clean out the drain line 2 times a year sometimes more depending on usage. Secondly I heard you say they are working but not great, you may want to look into replacing them sooner than later as price increases are no joke down here. My dad and I were talking about how much my grandfather paid for a new system install with crane and what not but prices have increased 4-5x the amount since 2001. And what my company charges for a new system is average 10k. I don’t mean to worry you but can you put a price on comfort? Never stop playing friend!

Ex Dust and Fume extraction engineer/ fabricator here: You need to be conscious about airflow restrictions and inefficiencies ! your ductwork is already inefficient due to the 90 degree junctions and adding decorations to the vents will only compound that issue. Having a fan capable of handling an excess load is important, as well as 45 degree spigots coming off the main run to improve airflow and reduce pressure. something to consider :)

Nice. If you replace the hulk with Mario on top of a pipe you could brainstorm ideas on how to make it even more striking. 1) You could of course add a physical brick or star above him. To make it even more interesting you try to make it "interactive" or animated (e.g allow people to spin the star somehow from bellow or have a flower come out of the brick when a button is pressed). 2) Digital: You could look into see through TVs or hologram fans (fan is probably the most sensible option but not sure if they would be bright enough for the location ). With a digital version you could switch out the thing above Mario: yellow star, 3d bricks (animated flowers coming out of it, etc), the white outline from super mario bros 3 with quickly changing: star, mushroom, flower). Interactivity could also be possible.

A couple quick ideas for the piranha plants (specifically trying to think of ways to make them lightweight and easier to hang): 1) sculpt the parts out of foam and paint them, an easy method! or 2) you could create a wire frame of the shapes, and cover it with a lightweight fabric sewn into the shape of all of the parts! if you can find someone who has experience with animatronic stuff (which there are plenty of cosplay people out there that work on that stuff), they might even be able to rig some movement for you under the fabric! You can even leave a hidden zipper for repairs/maintenance. But I’m sure y’all will find someone brilliant at fabrication who can give you more rounded ideas! EDIT: Wanted to add to this, there is a fellow maker I know that makes animatronic props, daregularsauce. I’m not sure if he would be able to help you, but if you’re really interested in at least concepting a moving version, he would be a great person to ask. that’s his username pretty much everywhere

It really seems that in your RR’s mind, Hulk is already gone. He’s just still priming himself for whatever blowback may occur from those locals who obviously love the statue a little too much. My guess is if RR didn’t think anyone would care, it would have been gone, or he would at least have been more open to moving it, a while ago.

I think it's pretty common to be responsible for HVAC, both of my commercial buildings I was responsible for. We just weren't responsible for the roof, sidewalk and parking lot. We spent so much on the HVAC being an ISP and retail computer store, especially trying to run AC in the winter.

Cover some beach balls in paper mache, pop the beach ball after it hardens and then you can carve out the mouths to make the piranha plant head, then use some green pool noodles for the stalks and add some leaves and thorns.

Swap in the Mario coming out of the pipe with no hesitiation. For the Pirahna Plant, find an inflatable and put it right on the vent. The circulating air will create locomotion and keep it alive. There likely would be a way to have the mouth open only but that's going to take a specifc engineering brain I don't have.

Right off the ole internets… A common way to allocate responsibility for HVAC is to have the tenant pay for maintenance/repairs and the landlord pay for replacement. It is a good idea for the landlord to require a contract between a qualified HVAC service company and the tenant. Sounds like you’re getting effed.
