My dad is a musician, and he and his friend formed a cover band, and he mostly performed in two restaurants. Me and my mom always went to see him, however he had his fans, and one of them was a stranger named Andrew. He was known for always wearing a top hat, and I always saw him in those two restaurants to see my dad play. He was a very kind person, and one the most iconic people at the restaurants for me. I haven’t seen him in a while, and I asked my mom why. Andrew died a while back from old age, and I was distraught. I will never forget Andrew, and I hope he rests in piece.

I can't believe I nearly cried because of dorphie, a fish I never met from a person I've never seen in real life, brought tears to my eyes which isn't common. I remember a few years ago the last time i actually cried and i just.. Started it. I was sitting, writing on my phone and suddenly I just cried my eyes out. Was around 14 or so at that time. Thanks raymundo

my first dog was named shuga, she was the best dog anyone could ask for. when my sister got hit by a car and (thankfully only) broke her leg, she stood over her and barked at oncoming cars until someone stopped for help. when deaths happened in our immediate family, she was there to comfort our dad out of his depression. she was there on lonely school nights and birthday parties when i didnt have any friends to call over. so thank you shuga for being the greatest great pyreneese and to raymundo for sharing a space for remembering all our loved ones who crossed the rainbow bridge

We used to have two guinea pigs. Squeaks (in my pfp), who is still alive, and Snutte, who had to be put down 2 years ago due to intestinal troubles. He was sassy and sweet. He loved laying down in my brothers lap. He had this wonderful messy tuft of hair on his back, and was mostly black and white, with patches of orange. One phrase i will never forget is my mother saying "He won't make it." I remember the car rides to and from the vet. The hysterical crying on the way there, holding hands with my brother. Him in the passenger seat and me in the back. And the horrible, bitter emptyness on the way back. I remember my brother remarking that it was a nice date. Rest in peace, friend, Snutte, 20/10/2021

the pet that I'll remember most was a stray German shepherd/husky mix that we found at our house one day. We named her Georgia, since thats where we lived. We could tell my how malnourished she was and how sensitive she was to touching that she was abused by her previous owners. For 8 fun filled years we had that dog until late in 2021 when she would tragically pass. While losing her was painful, and I constantly live with the pain of not being home when she died as I was away for college, I can rest easy knowing she passed surrounded by people that loved her and gave her the home she dreamed of.

I miss them and I've put so much effort into taking care of them for years now, they've been there for years thru the rough times and I wish they'd stay long enough thru my adulthood. Unfortunately, Snowy passed away from a disease and Cheetah went missing when I moved out from my childhood home. At least I still have a piece of them with me till now which is Snowy's son, Oattie and Cheetah's mouse toy.

My childhood pet was a dog named Tigger. He was a German shepherd/Husky mix and was absolutely incorrigible and wouldn’t stop jumping on people. This made me very afraid of him actually when I was really young, because I was small for my age and he didn’t realize how big he was and knock me over. So until I was about six I never really got super close to him. But he was a goofy, sweet and amazing dog. He had a habit of running off but he always came back, and he’d bark whenever he knew my dad was coming home from work because he could recognize the sound of the engine from a mile away.

Even when I went to Sunday School during most of my Elementary years I made a lot of friends that I wish I could be in contact with. Some of my most memorable experiences during my childhood were going to White Sox games prior to the major renovation and name change the stadium had in 2015 and 2016. The smell of cigarettes outside the ballpark and the scent of the hot dogs and other food being cooked inside still bring me back to the days of the mid and late 2000s. The scoreboard in center field complete with the old school pinwheels that lit up after a home run, with fireworks to boot, always brought joy to the faces of me and many others at the time. While the stadium may have gone through many different changes up until the present day, I always get a sense of nostalgia of watching older White Sox highlights, such as Paul Konerko’s 2005 World Series grand slam or Mark Buehrle’s perfect game in 2009.

I wasn’t ready for that ending… I’d love to read or hear about the adventures of you and Dorothy, I bet they were amazing. I had quite a few pets that passed- a cat named Eminem (like the rapper), a cocker spaniel named Thor, a border collie mix named Dee-Dee, some Guinea pigs name Gi-Gi, Sara, and Coconut. But my baby was my cat, Indy. She was an absolute menace but loved me. My favorite story was when I was showing my crystal collection to our family friend and ever so often Indy would look up at me from where she was laying, nod a little and lay back down. I miss her more everyday 💙

my childhood dog was named Shadow. she was a German Shepherd, i don't remember if she was a purebred or a mix, but regardless she was lovely. she followed all of us everywhere, and that's how she got her name. i don't think we did an amazing job taking care of her, but she loved us to death anyway (that's what i tell myself, that is). she started losing her eyesight when she was around 11 or 12, and her hips got really bad. she eventually started running into everything. we tried to help her for a little over a year, but finally decided to just let her rest so she won't be in pain anymore. we lost her just before her 13th birthday. i was a dumb kid and didn't stay by her side when she passed, but i remember crying my eyes out by the time she passed. my mom misses her, and thinks about her every day. i think about her a lot, she was a wonderful dog and i hope she's peacefully resting now.

16:33 Holy shit, this bit made me a bit teary-eyed. I didn't have many friends in Elementary school, but I did have a neighbor that was one of my first actual friends. We were in the same grade but he didn't attend the same school because he was only around on the weekends when he visited his grandparents. I don't really remember how we ended up becoming friends in the first place, but I know we just started hanging out after some point. We had bicycles that we would ride to a warehouse at the end of the road that had one small concrete ramp that was for loading trucks, and we'd ride on it for fun. I remember his younger sister would tag along with him and my mom loved doing her hair as it was naturally curly. I was a bit cold to her since I thought she got in our way when we rode our bikes or played with toy guns or sports (I was 10 so I had the "younger kid bad" mentality, and I still feel bad about it and even moreso considering she wasn't even MY younger sibling. I'm so sorry, Jasmine). My fondest memories consist of us playing GTA San Andreas and Need for Speed on his Play Station 2 very often. We played GTA so much that I memorized a lot of the cheat codes from his notebook and we'd just mess around in the game to see how long we could survive with a 6 star wanted level. Destroying tanks with dual shotguns, chucking infinite molotovs, spawning our own tanks to fight the literal military... it was complete mayhem and dumb fun that made my day and I will never forget those memories. His grandma was so welcoming and would even give us corn fritters or jell-o topped with whipped cream to snack on while we played video games. His grandpa would join us in a game of catch sometime, and we always welcomed him since he was able to throw the football or baseball further than we ever could back then. At some point during 2012, we ended up moving away and I never got the chance to say goodbye since it was during the week and not the weekend. I left my mom's contact info (I had barely turned 11 25:44 and having cell phones before turning 5 wasn't the norm yet) on the chainlink fence we would climb to go to eachother's houses, but I'm almost certain it was blown away by the wind. Never saw or heard from him ever again. I'm turning 23 this year, and I haven't forgotten about all the dumb shit we did all those years ago. We were homies for a little under 2 years, but those were undeniably the greatest 2 years of my childhood. Chirs, I hope you're doing alright, man.

My first dog, Buffy. She was an amazing dog, my parents didn't like her much because of her long hair. So she stayed outside when it was still legal in my state. I always hated it, and the dog could tell that I loved her and wanted her to be inside with me. I'd spend hours outside playing with her and petting her. When she became old my mom gave her to my grandma, she lived out her remaining years inside my grandma's house. Loafing around and when I'd come over every weekend, she always sat by my feet and let me pet her. I gave that dog all the love I could possibly give. When she passed away, it tore me apart. I now have a husky, she lives inside with me and my parents while complaining about her hair too, they respect my dog and me. She loafs around, lays on the couch with me and even puts her head on my shoulder like she's hugging me. I sometimes feel like at some point Buffy's spirit came to her, and told her how to be the best girl ever. Just like she was.

One of my pets was Dayo. A burbull dog. I don't have too many memories of her, since I was very young when she died. My other dog I had later, Dino was very weird. He just had these weird quirks. For example, if he was laying outside and it started raining, he would just stay where he was, not caring about being wet. But if you went to throw water over him, he would run away, really not liking it. Or he would bark when the bell rang, but only when we were home. The neighbors always said that whenever we weren't home and someone was at the door, he wouldn't make a noise. Through his life, he did become more and more grumpy. We think it was because he became old and moving started to become harder for him as he became a little bit worse of sight and hearing. I didn't cry when he died, but I did cry a few days earlier when I thought he was going to die when he got sick. A few days later, I woke up to mom knocking on my bedroom door and coming in to gently tell me they let Dino sleep in, because he was really not doing better in the meds and treatment we were giving him. I still miss him sometimes. We haven't had a dog since, because mom said it was fun, but a lot of effort and she wanted to just not have a pet for a while. I understand that, but I do hope we're getting another dog someday. I love pets.

There have been very few times in my life when I wasn't living in a houshold with pets. The earliest ones I remember were Ramses who was a stray cat that my old man fed when we were still living on base, and Rufus a black dog whose exact breed I don't remember. They're both long dead now, but they were there for my childhood pretty much up until I was around 11 or 12 I think. I remember Ramses ended up living with one of my grandparents at one point so when he died I hadn't seen him in years but Rufus... His death hit 12 year old me hard.

I remember my old dog Sophie, she was practically feral and aggressive to everyone, but she was kind to me and we’d go on adventures in the woods and dig holes together. She passed away when I was in middle school during the great recession, we couldn’t afford to treat her back then

My childhood dog was a English mastiff Mavis. I miss her to this day, she was a big sweet dog. I remember when she would rest her head on the table/my leg when begging for food. I hope she has found her peace...

i remember having a nightmare about running away from something with my family, the only parts that i remember is going though a walmart and seeing a wooden railway Diesel 10 in a football Field, and when i tried to pick it up the claw from it reached out and touched my hands before blacking out. i can’t believe i still remember that even today

One thing that I remember that would probably go on the surface of the iceberg is Bakugan. It was these toys that were balls you’d drop and they’d turn into creatures (that’s probably a poor way to explain it). It along with Bayblade had an anime which from what I remember was very cheesy. One place I remember that gives the nostalgia but creepy feeling described in liminal spaces is the house my family used to live in. I visited it a few months ago after my grandmother had to fix some things up (she uses it as a rental property and some college students trashed it unfortunately). It felt so surreal seeing my old childhood bedroom again. I remember the neighbors were constantly yelling at each other, but I could never understand what they were saying (which is probably a good thing). We used to have this white horse named Rumblebee. Unfortunately the fence we used to keep him in has a bunch of plants growing on it, which upsets me more then it should.

I remember my first doggo Grey sure I was a baby at the time and don't remember much of his appearance but a story that still breaks my heart to this day is when my sister told me I had blinded my poor doggo by smashing him repeatedly against a wall, that story still saddens me as I truly feel bad for him, he passed away a while ago but I still remember him

In regards to liminal space, I experienced that feeling when visiting a grocery store that had been around since the 80s...it was odd but I liked it
