Brilliant tutorial for beginners! Got a sub from me! Just fyi, you CAN eat rotten fruit and veg. You just have to eat it slowly, a few bites at at time. You then wait for the food arrow to point back down and then eat another few bites and you won't get sick. It's great when food is very scarce.

Pro pump shotgun tip: you can load shot and slugs sequentially to have a shot and slug combo during a gunfight- works with break actions too so you can have one longer range shot and one close range shot in urban areas

Tip always scout and wait for about 3 to 5 minuts before going into a town to avoid getting shot or sniped Second tip dont walk on roads walk in the tre Line besides about 30meters if possible And wear warm boring dark or camo clothes if possible dont carry to much items that you are too heavy

Do you use standard keybindings? I am having so many issues with weapon handling in particular. Like there's three ways to goto ADS?: -Short right-click. -Press shift while long-pressing right-mouse. -Press middle-mouse while long-pressing right-mouse. I mess things up all the time cause it starts conflicting. Super unintuitive.

Hello again! The only time you really wanna tap right click is when you are sniping. Other than that, IMO you should always hold right click for hip, and use shift afterwards. If that doesn't clear it up let me know :)

@@camcantrun It obviously works well for you, but I could not get used to it. And shift seems like a waste of keys to go to ADS as you can already do the same thing with the zoom key. So I changed shift to hold breath and rebound middle mouse to a side-button of my mouse. It's still not ideal, but for some reason zoom can't be rebound to become hold breath while in ADS. It's hardcoded to go into ADS while in hipfire.

*To spare an extra move you don’t have to change the knife in your hands when holding the can of food. You can also combine the can in hands with for example a knife in your inventory. *Also good to mention, a head strap or a head torch goes into the slot of your eyes as well. Since nights are very dark and a head torch is a great add on. *The infected on the coast are stronger then the infected in land as well. Keep that in mind when fighting them as a fresh spawn. As well fire fighters, Police, military and hunter infected are even stronger and have more health then say the runners do. If you go inland the “civilians” infected strength goes down. *I have tested the rotten food and TRMZ has done it and is doing the same thing. You can eat a rotten piece of fruit or veggie as long as you eat just one every 30-45 minutes and eat it with 3-5 bites per time (like you would with an unknown food can) and wait for the arrows to go down before you take another 3-5 bites. Then you won’t get sick. As a 6000hr DayZ player you should know this! *Buildings/sheds/scaffolding’s surrounding police/medical and those type of buildings drop the same loot as well. Most players skip these and just go to the main building to loot. Especially in spawn town. *The accident encounter right before your restart isn’t a static spawn like you said, it’s an dynamic car accident spawn that spawn in or doesn’t spawn in (hence the disappearing of the spawn after the reset). And most of these have police infected/vehicles and or fire fighter infected/vehicles as well as the same loot. *You can drink 1 full bottle and a half total without vomiting as a fresh spawn and/or when you need water even though the stomach symbol shows up a little before that. *You can also boil dirty water when you have found a gas stove to purify it to drink it. *You can also disinfect a bandana found in the world, say you get a cold and you’re wearing one you will keep getting sick if you don’t disinfect it. *The IV kit you can combine with the blood bag as well. And the bag it works as a cure for the gas sickness as long as you’re stage 1 and you got the blood before you got sick. *Charcoal is very important, it fills up your gas mask filter and it cures food poisoning. So it is NOT not important. *The codeine pill only makes your character not complain when in pain (so no grunts and hurt noises) and the morphine injector (NOT the codeine pills) makes it so that it looks like your health is white so you’re able to run for only one minute as you were in the white. *The timer on the epi pen is also one minute. *If you have bloody hands and you put gloves on while they are still bloody you can eat without getting sick with the gloves on. *If you DON’T have a knife you CAN’T skin a creature to get bones to make a knife if you haven’t found one like you say. *With the rope you can make an rope belt that will take only one knife and will safe you a couple extra slots until you’ll find better. *Light bark also works as kindling!!! That’s some bs it doesn’t. *A light bulb for a car also comes in a box and can give a piece of paper for kindling. *Light blue temp also matters because if you are light blue for too long you can catch a cold. A multi vitamin can help you with this. *The cooked/heated food that you keep in your backpack also makes your temp go up or if you are sitting on it or are crouched above them when cooking will also heat you up. *You need a sharp object to dig up worms you can’t just dig up worms. *NBC gear also spawn at fire stations, heli crash spawns, convoy spawns and at the big cargo plane on North West Airfield. *Heli’s have a chance that there is also no guns when they land. *Press vests can also spawn in police stations and/or dynamic car accidents. *Don’t forget that the higher tier armor you have on the more stamina it will take from you. *Your gun and mag can be pristine but if your bullets are damaged or worse you can also jam your gun.

The "DayZ Language" is the language of Russia and in English is called Cyrillic. It also has a few extra letters {like 6 or 7 extra) in the Cyrillic alphabet than in the English alphabet. When I learned it 56 years ago, the "y" in Cyrillic was pronounced like a long (or hard) "e" or soft "a", depending on your American accent. Fantastic video, as per usual. Excellent learning experience due to an excellent teacher. I never knew the difference between light and dark bark. Now I know I can't make a fire drill with light bark. I knew a press vest was better than a stab vest and a plate carrier was best of all but didn't know the degree of the difference between them. But then, when I get surprised with that "You Are Dead", I always assume I got shot in the head. I really shouldn't be playing a shoot-em-up game because I have seen some really good snipers in this game and me and my Xbox can't shoot worth a hoot.

Military locations are in most cases KOS and I wouldn't ever try to make friends there. Everywhere else I try to help out other survivors as much as possible. One of my favorite things to do is surprise fresh spawns by giving them things like an M4, Aug, etc. Be sure to give unloaded though. Never trust anyone.

Thanks for the guide brother. I finally decided to give Day z a go recently and its been pretty fun depending on the server. I feel like people are too quick to kill though. Some of the best runs ive had were with some friendlies. Eventually the friendship falls appart but thats what makes it fun. You have to keep your eye on friendlies at all times and know when to take them out.

The one thing I don't agree with in this video is cooking over smoking, I always smoke my meat due to it never going rotten. Heres another useful tip: When you make a fire in a house smoke will come out of the chimney of the house , so if players see the smoke they will know there is someone in that house. (You are most likely going to die)

I had a similar issue with Escape From Tarkov, until I got over my fear of losing loot, and after that I began playing much better before the bugs in the game turned me off of playing it. Made a friend, we ran for two hours, talking about what we do and where were from, we navigate thru towns and military bases. By this time we both have a decent starter kit with some weapons. We loot another base and in the last barrack we loot, he aims his mosin at me with the only shot he has for it because i gave it to him, and he kills me. You actually can craft the drill kit with light bark now as well. It was an older version of DAYZ and I was mistaken. Also, lightbark can be used in TANNING for leather. And to make Chess Pieces in modded versions of the game. All the best!

Love your guides, very informative. Can you explain how do characters and servers work? Is a character always created for a different server? Because sometimes I spawn in a middle of a forest with a character, then leave, and on a different server with the same character I spawn in a city. Also I want to delete a character so I join a server with it die with it and exit, but for some reason the character stays on the screen.

On offical servers they are all part of the same HIVE (is what they call is) which essentially means your characters will load into those other OFFICIAL servers with a character from a different server entirely. In addition when loading into a NEW server, you will be placed randomly to avoid something called ghosting, where you load in behind someone.

Great content but finding things are so darn random. I've been playing for 2 weeks now and today was the first time I've come across a backpack and it was on a z so I had to kill him and take it. Also, I'm on PS4 and holy moly the controls stink. It takes forever to move things. Hardest thing for me to find every time is a knife, they are impossible to find. The other thing I find annoying is when I die and go into a new game I constantly get dropped in the middle of a field with nothing around me. I have to find a road and randomly pick a direction and just job for miles to find anything.

Been trying to play this game as a new player because it looks so fun, but every time i spawn the coastline is full of geared players that just kill new player's straight away, or if I'm lucky enough to run away every single building along the coast and even inland has been completely cleaned out of literally everything. You can use water with meat and it will be boiled You can have no water and meat it becomes baked(add fat if you have) You can dry the meat to make it last longer as long as its not 100c or above

Just started dayz like 2 days ago I like it and I died for the first time with a lot of stuff on me and it's so hard not to get discouraged and Uninstall the game. At least my friend got my stuff and I gotta re try again today. But that's the game you are going to die
