A good idea to look into is learning how to safely crash land in arma 3. Mainly you want to know what speeds is it safe, and what to do if things go wrong. It'll help aid with calculating these kind of lands, especially knowing what max speed you can go before your helicopter takes damage. I also really suggest testing this out on your own time too, by using Pre-made sandbox missions, or a custom made one. *then* i suggest using a Gamemode i like a lot called "Evannex", a Player/AI vs AI game mode, It'll train you to operate in a combat enviroment, with threats of Anti-air and Tanks at any corner.

in other landing videos you starting to descend at 350-450m)) So its extremely faster. Would be more interesting how we can combine tricks to drop heli energy (with stable landing, of course)

You bring up a good point, and that is as you become familiar with an LZ you naturally get faster at it, as you learn when to begin descent or lowering collective. There's also a perspective change, as you fly low, it gives the appearance that you're going faster. Finally, when recording the landings for my videos, I'm trying to be slower and more deliberate with my actions so the viewer can see them. As you get better at landing, you start combining movements such as leveling out and bringing collective to hover.

@@realgrumpyjoe p.s. - I didn't know about the trick with turning off the engine (idk why my "teacher" didnt told about this) , ty very much. this is a really cool way to lose heli energy)) With this i can train landin in about 250-350m

Excellent! Bro what do you think about using a playstation joystick for the helis? I always used keyboard + mouse, but I want to try, at least, that joystick. Cheers from Argentina!

I used to use ps4 controller. Works great! A lot better than mouse and keyboard.
