Long comment ahead.. This was such an amazing video. Everything needed to be known in one video and not 100 parts... I wish we saw more if your cakes, like you had shown in the reel telling us this video was coming up... I had to come to google notes to write the comment as I watch.... Truly out of your funk BTW!!! I hope you're okay. ♥ 1. First off,, you hooked me the first few minutes. 📣 I was just like everyone needs to see this!! 2. Now I know how to pronounce your name. 3. Those were good beginner cakes!! Honestly I could buy them for inspo. Whyyyyy did you delete them from insta 😢 4. Yeah.... You still kinda bake. We all saw the last cake. 😍 5. 2 years self taught ... Wow. 6. Also, I think before sending a client photos first, let them send their own inspirations first, even thought they have to google or something, because maybe your Pinterest or other photos may throw gem off, you get? I feel if you send your photos first, it's like a teacher giving an exam without teaching. 12. I agree with you on the recipes but then also, recipes and stuff change, what if you get your hands on real vanilla extract that gets your cake to another level as opposed to the essence? What if you found a new way to make buttercream? If it's an old client, maybe you have to tell them to give it a try or maybe sample the new recipe cake? Is it done here in Kenya? Or alert them if needed? Unless if they specifically insist to get a similar cake like last time and are not open minded to try the new recipe. So depending.... I would want my baker to have a better cake the next time i order again from them , not same. Just don't mess it up. Growth is good. ♥📣🌼 13. I like how you assume guys know how to use excel. 😂 My notebooks have never failed me but I'll work on my excel skills. 14. I wanna see the 2pm-feet up cake!! 😂 15. Reels and shorts deceive people how long cakes take. I literally plan 2 days before, so that they freeze well then I frost. 16. This was really needed. Really loving the engagement:) I actually just archived the older cakes, but since I am in my prime baking era now 😂, I might just restore them. I'm glad you were able to find inspiration from the beginner cakes I showed. And thank you for the concern about my well-being - I'm doing much better now! Regarding your point about sending photos to clients, that's a great suggestion to let them send their own inspirations first. And you're absolutely right about growth being good - it's always good to try new things and improve. Every cake I make is better than the last. I unfortunately misrepresented my fondant skills and made a terrible topper😂😂😂. It was cute if you squinted from a specific angle. The client was not too pleased, but I for sure learn my lesson!

My answer: Cake business is not sustainable in Kenya, unless you do it as a side hustle. How? I don't know, better if you work from home or are a stay at home mum or dad but difficult if you have an 8-5 job. How bakers survive out here, I don't know... Damn!! Imagine, if you are single and have moved out and you got bills. Worse, Single mum and all. I know a baker who is lucky enough she still lives with the parents. That's kinda okay. Happy bakers are those with like a good clientele base. 3-4 cakes a week. Maybe 3 wedding cakes a month. Many bakers have OTHER side hustles. It's tough. You'd rather bank on a small restaurant. Maybe even vibandas bring in more money daily. So, no. But Nigeria on the other hand.... Damn!!! ♥
