Great information. The best deal that I ever got on a drinks package was $18 per day on the Symphony of the Seas in January 2020! It was a goof on the Cruise Planner and I jumped on it as soon as I saw it!!

On a pre-pandemic cruise, my friends and I used one of our specialty dining package meals for a champagne brunch and tour of the kitchens. I doubt that tours of the kitchens are currently being done, but it was an interesting experience.

We will be on the Anthem next month. As advised we booked our beverage & dinner packages in advance. Got the deluxe drink & Zoom internet combo for $50/pp daily. And the 3-night specialty dinner plan for $90/pp. That's like getting 3 for the normal price of 2.

So, the drink package on RCL, when you add in the taxes tips, they are looking for $250 per day for two people. So, for a 14 day cruise, $3500 for drinks. Just go on MSC where everything is included in yacht club. RCL, $10,700 +$500 for spa, and $500 for internet, lets round up to $13,000 for two weeks in a balcony cabin. MSC Yacht Club all inclusive, $12,500 for two weeks. Which would you rather.

It is interesting that many cruise lines have jacked up the pricing on the beverage package. We never obtain them but have the drink package as part of the promotion on the Allure of the Seas July 2022. I am also booked on NCL Breakway in June 2023 as a shirft and lift sailing. They didn't offer the package and I checked out the price for our sailing. NCL is asking £1069 per person for the beverage package. Certainly not cost efficient as we would never indulge in the cost of beverages, even if we purchase a la carte. Thank you for a great vlog.

Great video. I was on the Anthem in December 2019 and found the beverage package to be amazing. On the first day they had a BOGO sale. The cups were given to the children so 4 people drank the cruise away for the price of 1.5!

Thank you so much for this video and all of your insight with Royal Caribbeans food and drinks package. your approach to the video is awesome because it gives everybody the information so they know what they need to do and they know what would work best for everyone's individual budget. I am going to plan on just doing the minimum package that comes with our cruise ticket and not do anything extra. One, I believe it is enough without getting all fancy. Two, I am probably bucking the whole system of cruising but I don't really like the non straightforward nature of cruising and pricing and when you're buying you never know if it is at the best price or will the price change later and I really don't like that. Three, I also believe that if a cruise company or travel company truly appreciates their customers then they will make it as easy for their customers to feel and appreciate the product and the good job of it being provided equally to everyone. again thank you so much for your videos and information we are traveling at the end of April for the repositioning cruise on the Royal Caribbean Explorer of The Seas and are truly looking forward to visiting some of the islands we've never been to and a day and a half inside Miami. Probably the cheapest drinks package I've seen is with Fred Olsen (it was £10 per night when I started cruising with them, but now it's £20 per night) though the drinks you can choose from is very limited. I've always been happy with their drinks package, though with a true all-inclusive drinks package I think I might go a little nuts (like kid in a sweet shop nuts).

Do they add the automatic gratuity to your drinks when you don't have the drinks package? in other words is a beer $8.25 leaving you the option to tip or is it automatically added making it $9.75. I know the automatically add it in the USA just haven't sailed with them in the UK.

Question: We all know that if you have the drinks package that you can not share with other people and can be in trouble if they catch you at it! But at dinner if you have the drinks package and they bring you bottled water. What happens if you share that with your family or others at the table. I conceder it rude not to offer others at the table a drink from a bottle. Same goes for wine. My wife is not a drinker (my department) she normally has just one glass of wine with her meal. But I will polish the bottle off. What's the deal if I have the drinks package and get a bootle and give her a glass? Am I off the ship?

I’m pretty sure alcohol isn’t included in suite class. If you are going to drink an average of 4 drinks a day or do bottled wines with dinner, it makes sense to get the alcohol package. You’ll get discounts on bottles of wine. The drinks are really high priced individually. Think $15 each.

If you are diamond status, does it make sense to get drinks package? We are sailing with them next October and usually sail with Celebrity. There’s very little detail on what perks are offered... the website has a small list, but they say a letter detailing perks are given in your cabin .. I like to preplan.. any thoughts. The itinerary is port intensive with only 1 sea day.

Unless you drink more than 4 drinks a day or drink really expensive drinks I wouldn't think you would need it. I am Diamond Plus. Between the free drinks you get plus the 2 bottles of wine you can bring on board, I doubt you would get an ROI from the drinks package. There is also an expresso / cappuccino machine in the lounge.

If you go on the Royal Caribbean Blog ( unofficial), there is a copy of a recent Cruise Compass. At the end of it, it has the on board perks for each level. It varies from ship to ship, but it will give you an idea.
