For me, you are a perfect balance of good quality work methods, excellent videography, light and comical banter of the perfect dosage, and very good instruction! Wow! I couldn’t imagine a framer out there that wouldn’t benefit. Thank you.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast! I love that motto but I didn't abide it in my years of framing. I'm 42 with and have framed for 24 years, I have had carpel tunnel surgery on both hands. My grip and hands are already bad at my age. I didn't take care of my body and nobody around me encouraged it, it just want talked about. But now a days I tell the young guys to take care of themselves.

Just found your channel and I'm glad I did. Getting ready to build a 30'x70' work shop with 12' eaves and an 8/12 pitch. I was undecided if I wanted to stick frame the roof or use trusses that I would build. Thanks for the videos.

All these new sawall blades with carbide teeth are awesome. Just like the framers that use them. See what I did there?

I can see that using a form of raking shore on those big walls would be handy. That way you can just spin to get the walls plumb, especially handy with only 2 people.

I'm sure you've answered this before, but how do you get through inspections with balloon framing?

Wow 1/4 th the time! Thought ballon was an ancient technique used in the Roman times. That was inefficient and a fire hazard. Thanks for bringing a new perspective!

Do those braces under the soffit not mess up the siding at all or am I missing something ?
@Katya5cat6 ай бұрын
I can say for sure a clean job is safe. Not only that, walking on saw dust or dirt on a solid surface will rob you of energy. Yes, when your foot slips just that little bit, it creates an inefficient use of your energy. I found many years ago that a clean floor will make your day easier.

Just curious if the inspectors care that the siding is installed before framing inspection? Only because its a sheer wall with nailing requirements.

I don't care how thick subfloor is but, 2x10 every 24" seems like a super flimsy floor with lots of flex. I bet that as soon as the joists settle and glue dries it's gonna be more squeeky that a Japanese nightingale floor. Plain silly design just to save a couple of thousand bucks in materials.
@AwesomeFramers11 ай бұрын
You don't care how thick the subfloor is? Then you aren't interested in learn eh?
@interesting790611 ай бұрын
@@AwesomeFramers Not much to learn, this is america, no subfloor is going to be above 5/8 or 3/4 at the best depending on local codes. It may be ok while the material is new and grippy but as soon as the moisture drops by 5-10% seasonally is going to become a springboard. I am sure all the floors have calculated by the same people that tested the Boeing 737 max that blew apart in mid air, so that tells you what I think about engineers.
