I was diagnosed with FAI & torn labrum in November, it was suggested I have hip surgery, possibly a hip replacement (I'm 39 y/o). I found these guys online via FAI fix and their program has saved me from surgery. As long as I stretch and do my tissue massage, I'm back to working out 5-6 days a week, with more focus on strengthening glutes. Prior to FAI fix I could barely walk, had intense pain shooting down my thigh and wondered if I would ever be able to work out again. I'm forever grateful!

I hurt myself four years ago by tearing an adductor almost completely off the hip bone and I’ve had impingement ever since. I’ve done so many stretches and band mobilizations and the pain never went away. Using the barbell and massage ball techniques were an unholy level of pain. I think it finally broke up the scar tissue, because now I can squat down like normal. Amazing video

This video is a SERIOUSLY GOOD collection of incredible stretches. Not only will these improve your hip impingement, but with very flexible and mobile hips, other problems can magically clear themselves such as knee pain and ankle issues. From years of research from reading posture and pain books, observing range of motion in myself and in others, as well as knowing most of these stretches - Alan, you have a perfectly complete list of GREAT stretches. There are some that require two people, but for nearly 99% of people out there, THIS video will solve their problem in one way or another. Im gunna save this link and use all the time!

Give it rest and do all the lacrossse ball shgould get a little better. I hope minw will heal soon its really bumming me out lol. Have you fouind anything that helps. TBH it helps knowing someone else struggles withj this becvause this shits got me down lmfao Ill let you know if / when it heals

well the problem just appeared for me so i am just looking for solutions. What helped for me right now is doing my squats rather slow and i really make sure that i push my knees out a bit and that i am warmed up properlly. I just ordered a Lacrosse Ball from Amazon and i will give it a try lets see. I hope you will be able to get back under the bar without pain real soon :) Btw how painful was squatting for you when you still had the full problem?
@GeneralSouL997 жыл бұрын
Luckily i could still perform a full squat (just with moderate pain). But still i dont want that it gets worse so i will take at least more week off squating *edit I will continue squatting with lower weight. My pain is moderate and i am already slightly depressed because of it i cant imagine how you must feel :( *As you can see from my edit i will try to continue squatting. I would suggest you to watch: Jordan and Austins Podcasts about pain (kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHXYo41piLhrhKc) since they have some interesting points on pain that you usually dont hear. It was propably a good idea from you to switch to another squat variation that doesnt hurt until you can low bar squat again.

These are good stretches for external rotation but you are lacking the internal rotation part a lot which plays a very important role when it comes to knee pain and squatting ass to grass. Most people's glutes are super tight which prevents them from going into internal hip rotation and restricts overall hip movement a lot while also effecting the whole posture.

FAI is actually a congenital physical deformation so nothing really "causes" it but in my case it was exacerbated heavily by abdominal weakness.
@trustbuster33263 жыл бұрын
@@hotvodka7641 That isn’t necessarily true. Hundreds of people have hips and femurs shaped so that it seems like they should have FAI, but they don’t. It really comes down to how weak, overactive, or how tight your hip rotator cuff muscles are.

I have hip impingement, I thought I'd never be able to squat again. This guy was very helpful with the rehab process. I'd recommend doing what he's doing, because it's worked for me atleast. Like he says it's a problem you'll have for the rest of your life but it's easily managed. If you're feeling intense pain in your hip joints I would go hard, do what he's doing here for a month or two, or when the pain alleviates. You'll then be able to get away with doing less, but still regularly I.e. everyday. Peace

iggy iggy Do these exercises, but incorporate some Birddogs and Deadbugs for breath control. Try switching to front squats for a bit to help your core activation. Fr Squats also require a bit less hip mobility, which will give your hip a bit of a break while still effectively working the muscles. Also try throwing a small loop band around your knees for squats for some RNT (reactive neuromuscular training). 👍👍👍

oh my fucking god. I have been suffering with severe pain from the top of my hips for months now. 2 days ago when I went squatting my legs actually gave in because the pain was so severe when shooting out of the hole. I've been working on stretching and mobility stuff for nearly a year, yet the pain was still there. I did the massaging of the top of my hip ( I use a broom. I don't have a barbell in my bedroom Im afraid. ), and sat there doing that quite firmly without going apeshit on myself for about 25 minutes. The pain in my left side is gone when i move it around. The right side is at least 70% less painful. Guess this is yet another stretching exercise i'll be doing on the daaaaaily bby plx. THANK YOU
