Video and audio quality is BANGIN'! I legit had no idea what you were talking about but it sounds important and technical, and it sounds like its doing what it needs to do. Loved seeing the first video 'on the road!'!

Great video guys. From the Victron install manual……”Mount the solar charger vertically on a non-flammable substrate, with the electrical terminals facing downwards.”

Hi guys, im about to start a build with the same canopybas you guys and was wondering if you had an underbody water tank installed?
@BorderlandExplorers
@BorderlandExplorers 11 ай бұрын
Hi mate, nice! We’re really happy with ours. We don’t have an underbody water tank at this stage - we are just running a jerry can on the rear canopy wall, plus a footwell water tank. We would be keen to look into it if they start making them though!

Killer looking setup guys. Is your Inverter not running through the shunt?
@BorderlandExplorers
@BorderlandExplorers Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Good pick up :). It’s not unfortunately - the shunt was getting pretty full and the cabling wise it was getting tricky. We’d like to look at finding a way to do that in the future though. It’s obviously handy being able to see the exact amp draw for the inverter

@@BorderlandExplorers use a negative busbar for all your earth cables and one big cable to the shunt.

Great Setup Guys, really interested in the Microwave addition, just need to find a space to install it. I have a similar setup with the Enerdrive 2k Watt Inverter, Victron 30 & 20 Amp MPPT, 6 switch Fuse Box etc however I connected all up to the Victron Distributor 1000 including adding an ON Off switch & smart shunt to the ends of the Distributor and 2 x extra Fuses using the Hack here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGq2oYt9jteCo6c . This gives me up to 6 x connections all running through the Shunt, neat and Tidy.

I have just brought my first canopy and very keen to start fitting it out. I also got black. Do you find your fridge struggles in high temps?
@BorderlandExplorers
@BorderlandExplorers 8 ай бұрын
Nice, that’s awesome! 😀. When we were in 40+ degree heat we did have to be pretty careful with how we packed the fridge (making sure air could flow around items, and not packed too tightly). We did have have a couple of things down the bottom of the fridge get a bit too warm. I’d say that it was a manageable situation and nothing terrible, but we did end up installing an internal fan into the fridge so that we didn’t have to give it as much thought. Too much frost build-up around the freezer combined with very hot weather was the only time the lower section of the fridge got a little warmer than it should have been. Short answer - overall not too bad, and manageable, but we like the extra fan inside the fridge 😂

How's the microwave going? Can you see what the MW is drawing on startup and then running? Thinking of doing something similar and the battery and inverter specs you went with are the same as I had in mind. Thanks
@BorderlandExplorers
@BorderlandExplorers 4 ай бұрын
It's been awesome! We use it pretty much every day now, and we're glad we did it. We didn't hook it up through the shunt, so we can't actually see what it's drawing accurately - however we wouldn't mind changing the wiring so we can see more. The 2000W inverter and Remco 150ah Lithium handle it really well though. We mainly just use it to re-heat food. I'd guess an average of 5 mins running time per day in total.

Great stuff guys, I bought all the gear including cables boxes and all the bigger 12v gear (Redarc) asked an auto elec for a quote to install it. He wanted $4k (even with me supplying all the gear) so DIY it was. Have not had a problem (yet lol) Anyone wanting to give it a go I say go for it. Too many ripoffs out there.
