Hi Eddie, I have a question for you but first I want to tell you how much I enjoy your content. I love your attitude, your sense of humor, your knowledge, and how you so naturally share your faith. I also feel like you are a straight shooter (NOT naming DIY your favorite even though you are friends w/ Yvan and Nick tells me a lot about you.) If it's not obvious, I've been watching a LOT of your stuff recently. So here's my question. And it's spurred on by seeing your car. I've recently gotten into cleaning my cars again. I do it for fun and for exercise. Based on some of your (and other youtubers) older videos, I decided to buy ONR and start using it on our cars. I love how convenient it is and generally speaking I feel like I can get my car cleaner w/ rinseless than I can w/ traditional cleaning. (alot of that has to do with living in Texas sun, hard water, etc.) However... (Here it comes.) My car gets dirty SO much easier...and I honestly don't think it's in my head. If I leave me car near the grass and the sprinkler hits it or it rains, the water (polymer) spots are SOOO much worse than had I not washed the car at all. When I see your car looking like this (I know it's been a year, but still) to me it looks unnaturally dirty...like mine does. Even though the car isn't sticky to the touch, it's acting like it is. Could that possibly be caused by the ONR? and if so, would a different washless be better (and still good with hard water?) I'm sorry for such a long first comment but it's gotten to the point where it's making washing the car no fun. I'm using the right dilution, clean towels, going one panel at a time, etc...all the normal suspects. Thinking of trying DIY Detail to see if it works better, but once I saw your car, I just had to wonder if this is just a charateristic of using rinseless in general. Thoughts appreciated.
@Ecdetails7 ай бұрын
thanks for watching and the kind words I live in Idaho we get alot of dirty ran so it’s normal , sprinkles water aren’t consider polymer marks it’s water spots and requires immediate removal or you’ll get other issues , also I don’t use onr but that’s neither here or there I would wash your car and use a topper like amplify , ceramic gloss , good good spray from drive to help with the water running off (sprinklers)

These are great tips at starting to detail for those who live in dense housing communities. Thankfully my garage at my apartment is a few feet away from a patch of space not typically designated for parking that I can temporarily park my car during a cleaning process that management has not fussed about. I've got much more of an elaborate setup because I am crazy person and have a rolling cart with 20 gallons of water (10 tap/10 distilled) and two sets of Worx Hyrdroshot washers. My rule is to give the car a soap bath on weekends only and throughout the week I specifically use a rinseless wash with a bucket and a Marolex sprayer. I find it much easier to build a few gallon jugs of rinseless than filling up in a bucket. I typically go back and forth with plush edgeless towels and the UBS depending on how far I want to stretch the rinseless in the bucket. If the expense is feasible, the IK PPF sprayer would be a great option for washing the wheels and tires if someone wants to use a dedicated wheel/tire cleaner.

I generally have the detail keg ready to go! when I do this and I use water for the rims, and do a deeper wheel cleaning. BUT 90% of the people don't have those tools. But I'm with you I'm overkill mcgeee

Eddie I just did my truck in the hot sun the other day. Same thing panel by panel. Used DIY (of course) but I use two sponges so I can go quicker. I like to use the second sponge for the lower panels which are dirtier. I also hit it after I cleaned it with some ceramic detail spray to make it pop. I sprayed my wheels but used a separate towel to dry them. Stay cool.

Hey Eddie, nice video. Be careful when drying with the larger drying towels as in the video (8:50) you drag the towel across the concrete a couple times, this can pick up grit and cause some pretty serious scratches. I do a pretty similar process but for the wheels I use something a bit stronger like an APC diluted 1:9 on a dry wheel, followed by wash tools in a rinseless bucket and then I finish with a rinseless spray to neutralize the chemicals then a blow dry, saves contaminating a towel.

Great one, Eddie! New subscriber here (Pan recommended you for everything rinseless, so that's quite the endorsement!) Loved this. I started with rinseless recently because I live in an apartment without access to free flowing water, and also have no idea about rules/restrictions to street washing, but knowing the Netherlands, they're probably pretty restrictive I'm using ONR and Brake Buster combo, and loving the results. I'll soon incorporate Bead Maker after. I am a bit puzzled with one thing though. I usually start with the wheels, so that I don't flick wheel junk into an already clean body, but at the same time I'm thinking if that's not worse, because I'm already dirtying the sponge with wheels dirt that then go into the rinseless wash on the body. I believe a good wash of the sponge in the bucket solves this anyway, but would love to read your opinion on it, in case you tried both orders or have changed the way you do it since this video was recorded. Keep up the nice work!
@Ecdetails9 ай бұрын
FIrst of thanks so much for the sub, when im rinseless washing I always do the wheels last and use the rinseless in the bucket on the tires with the tire brush etc. doing that makes it so my paint gets fresh solution When doing the wheels I tend to use a detail keg and with rinseless in it so I can spray off what ever wheel cleaner I am using, I keep it at 100 PSI its perfect combo
@thesamsquatch5224 Жыл бұрын
Excellent video! Toughest part for me is tires 😂 Rinseless does very well for something like this, not caked with mud or anything. If it does dry on the panel just re wet and you're good. The lubrication stays on the surface and you don't need a drying aid. Eddie I hope you got some water after that, it looks very hot out
