I've thought long and hard about my ex. I made up my mind I don't want her back. Problem is, am I strong enough to tell her no? I think I'm safe, it's been about 4 years now. What I find troubling is the automatic assumption that the woman is "high value" and the man must make sure he portrays himself as "high value" as well to have a chance at winning her back, which should NEVER be the goal post-breakup. Many women simply cannot comprehend what it means to be in a committed loving relationship, and many as well simply don't deserve to be in one. The best advise post-breakup is to heal from any trauma you have experienced, and go find one of the rare women who understand and deserve the relationship the ex threw away.

Not a situation I have really been in. My late wife and I had a period where it looked like the marriage was over and we did change things up to get back on the same page (part of that was calling her out on the concept that I was somehow responsible for her overall happiness), but that was different than most of the scenarios presented here. Yes, these are excellent strategies, however they may be understated. Many women use the word "boundaries" when they start to leave a relationship. The definitions will change depending on what she selects as the "reason" or reasons for the break up. I am the person who initiates a break up. I use the words Red Line. I carefully define my requirements which do not change. The result is a break up where I am in control. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. After a breakup 90 days minimum should be no contact. She will be returning faster and stronger the more time she has to figure out that a Red Line is not negotiable. Each Red Line must be carefully defined to meet your specific needs. Mine include cheating, tattoos, and green hair.

Amen brother -- women and the womens movement have convinced men that women can't be held responsible for opperating on their feelings in the place of common sense and logic. This is to say that women are saying they are basically mentally handicapped which is a cop-out when convenient for them, but hypocritical when they say they can do the same things as men and therfore don't need men . To this idea I say fine to a point. let women use every thing in society that they basically created themselves and not use everythng in society that men created .What you will get is a lot of women naked and dying in the streets, because they can't cook or take care of themselves without someone to do this for them. Basically there is only a couple of reasons for couplehood.The main is for procreation. Marriage is a contract that trys to guarantee a disease free marriage bed on both sides of the sexual fence .The second is to guarantee through mutual co-opperation, hopefully bonded by love, a safe and hopefully loving environment for the ofspring of that union.What you have today is women with few skills trying to hitch a ride on a mans paycheck; to up their social and economic status and buy early retirement through the courts and divorce. Any man who buys into this stuff is just committing economic suicide .

I misread the heading "happy to see the back of her"! Ok, im concentrating now. I've missed out on being broken hearted. Except when I left my toy fire engine on the bus. And my Billy the dog dying suddenly. I have been on holiday with an ex partner. We had a great time without intimacy. And another, that was based on sex only at every opportunity without the holiday. When someone walks away from me, a girlfriend (never had one officially), a friend or even just an acquaintance of another person I would never contact them again. Even if they contact me it would be a slim chance any reconnection would be seccussful. When trust is lost i am done. Most relationships will not last forever. Most people grow up believing they need one because they never learned how to truly be independent. No different than work. If you have been dismissed from a job, if they find out it was a mistake and made a bad decision, getting you back would only be short lived in most cases. That's just how it is.

I cannot believe all the guys here saying basically to drop her like a hot rock. I'm assuming most are 20 to 40. As you get older I find out that women "break up" just because of a bad day, you didn't react the right way to something, whatever. I hate the way dating works now, honesty is so hard to find. Nope. She's an ex for a reason. Once she's an ex, she stays an ex. If she wants to go, then she should go, and as soon as possible. I won't tolerate drama, chaos, complaining, disrespect, crap tests, mind games, or nagging. She just needs to pack her stuff and leave. Yes, there will be no contact - forever. What men need to learn is that if a woman leaves you maybe you do need to make self improvements, but how many improvements are you going to make before you finally grow up and realize that by and large the woman who left you is doing nothing and what is happening is she is living rent free in your head . Women love to manipulate and play on a man's emotions and play the how much do you really love me game to the point of exhaustion. In the meantime and before they left they spent your money where they could to the point of exhaustion and men put up with this stuff because they cared about these women ,but the woman felt otherwise as proven by her lack of presence in the situation. I've had four major relationships in my life and they all left me not because I was a bad guy but because I was mostly one move ahead of them and they couldn't manipulate my sorry sigma ass. I wasn't ahead on every move they made but after they left they all wanted to come back because they looked at what was out there after they left and realized the grass wasn't all that green on the other side of the fence . To three of them I just said there was too much water under the bridge and to the forth who tried to steal from me; I gifted her with legal problems and I won. I don't hate women, but I I just got tired of playing around. I adoped MGTOW because I wanted peace from all the female games and manipulations. I still know lots of women I'm friendly with but there are no relationships .I'm good for a cup of coffee or a lunch once in a while and I have a lot of hobbies and the women I know are aware of this because I tell them so . As soon as the charm and manipulation turns on, I tell them I can't be hanging around for this stuff because I'm neglecting my hobbies or that the steelhead are running in some river . When a women makes the move to leave, in my case, she did it because of feelings over common sense and logic as all woman do and they really need to realize that I'm sorry doesn't cash at the bank. To them I say , If you can't have any self control ,then you need to evaluate your own self worth and see which changes you need to make before you start whining about changes needed in someone else . That kind of behaviour is just passing the buck.

Seriously? There’s only three reasons she left? How about you were the backup plan when she was stuck and plan A failed? Now you fulfilled her need and she’s in a better place and is ready to move on with 1/2 your stuff? That girl is never coming back and you don’t want her to. Plus there are plenty of guys that hit the mark between 1 and 2 and never cheated and she’s still in the wind. Also, she will never leave without having someone in the wings ready to replace you. So, no amount of trying to get her to wonder about you will work unless she has run thru all the guy(s) that she left you for. If they all crater and are done with her and everything else doesn’t work out and she has a crisis only then will she consider coming back no matter what you do. Who wants that situation? No, man up. Be stoic and if she contacts you be polite but no thank you. Bottom line. She leaves. You’re done with her. At best getting her back will make you the backup plan and she will leave again. You will be better off without her.
