This is the sharpest lens I've ever owned. Its a beast at night / low light and the wide angle makes for really interesting composition

Great video. I'm tempted to try one of these later on.
@DianaGladney10 ай бұрын
Definitely worth at least the try! The biggest surprise for me was how light it was versus the Sigma 16mm with just as sharp optics.

would you recommend this lens or the 11mm for vlogging and some talking head?
@gamadrid8 ай бұрын
I want to choose a two-lens setup for the wide-angle range from these: Sony 11mm f1.8, Sony 15mm f1.4, Sigma 16mm f1.4, and Sigma 10-18mm f2.8; and I believe that you are the right person to help me. Which two do you choose?

How does this do on the zve1
@DianaGladney9 ай бұрын
Works fine. Since it is an APS-C lens on a full frame camera that doesn't have the auto swap to APS-C lens mode on it, you'll need to use Clear Image Zoom to crop in a bit. Depending on the level of stabilization you're using in the camera, will determine how much of Clear Image Zoom you need to use to get rid of the vignette. So, let's say you're in Active stabilization mode, you'll only need to crop in a bit more to get rid of the vignette and you're golden.

so like the apsc version of the 24mm f2.8 g (22.5 FFe)
@DianaGladney10 ай бұрын
Yeah, pretty much. That 15mm-16mm range is equivalent to 24mm on full frame.

Hi D, I thought the Sony 11mm F1.8 was almost equivalent to the Sigma 16mm ?
@CLVlogs0510 ай бұрын
No men, not close at all, two different focal length. Is so wide is not optimal for video because there will be More distorsión even though Sony control it really well for how wide it is. I would rather go for the new sigma 10-18mm instead of the Sony even thought there is almost half stop of light loss

@@CLVlogs05 so the Sony 15mm is not good for recording video ?
@DianaGladney10 ай бұрын
When you’re talking focal lengths, the smaller the number the wider it is. So, the Sony 15mm and Sigma 16mm would be the closest. Having used both lenses, how lightweight the Sony is makes it an easy carry but the Sigma 16mm lens is goated.
@costtv10 ай бұрын
@@DianaGladneyyeah I know it is I need to get one of those I got the Sony 11mm 1.8
@CLVlogs0510 ай бұрын
@@costtv Diana gave you a brief explanition of the one that is closer. When it comes the other focal lenghts I mentioned is a matter of preference. As you know average preferences of focal lenghts are between 35 to 50mm full frame equivalent. APSC is not full frame equivalent so any focal lenghts you get on apsc you need to multpply by 1.5 E.G your 11MM X 1.5 = 16mm on full frame. This is generally considered a vlogging focal lenghts and ultra wide. but the distortsion and compression is soemthing that you need to see if is good for the work that you do. 16mm x 1.5 = 24mm and those are the ranges where people starti considering for recording video, you have control of a few things and is between wide and center. I don't like how the face and the background looks on a 11mm or 12 or 16mm on aspc looks. I rather go 23mm APSC or up.

can you save setting profiles for different lens on the zve10?
@DianaGladney9 ай бұрын
In a way, yes. It’s not unique to only the ZV-E10. When you save your custom settings via Memory Recall on any of the Sony cameras, it saves your aperture, ISO and all the other settings you saved. So, if you use one lens for vlogging, a different one for live streaming, etc. if one is an f4 lens vs f2.8 lens, you lock in those settings based on all that. So, when you use that lens, it automatically knows all the settings you set with the lens you used at that time. But that’s as close to saving settings profiles per lens on the camera.

i own sigma 16mm 1.4 and tested sony 15mm. trust me guys this lens isn't worth spending extra $350. Sigma is $399 while sony 15mm 1.4 is $749. you could get sigma 16mm and 30mm 1.4 and still have a little money left in your pocket instead of one sony 15mm 1.4
@DianaGladney10 ай бұрын
The Sigma 16mm is unquestionably a great lens. However, it's more of what you value that'd determine what you invest in. If your camera is on a tripod 90% of the time or you're wanting to to stay budget-friendly with high quality, easily Sigma. But if you travel a lot, that extra weight is annoying as hell lol I don't care how lean and mean your setup is. I've done it with both, and Sony wins hands down in that category, and the button on the side is clutch. So, just all about having options, but they're both great lenses.
