@worksofein6449 Жыл бұрын
I think the "hard time being labelled thing" comes in part from loud gate keepers having a hissy fit if a band claims to be a genre that the gate keeper thinks they do not fully fit into. Along with the usual wanting to differentiate themselves from whatever scene they in. I'm also here for the C tier bands, like American Head Charge, I really like their first two albums. Also the first two Spineshank albums and Ultraspank too. Random side note, one of the roadies for Ultraspank from back in the late 90's and early 2000's is now a respected scientist in my field. Downer and down the sun are another two deep cuts. Down the suns only album was pretty average but had a couple of killer songs, I thought they had loads of potential. Same for Downer, "the last time" really stood out on that album and if they could have raised the rest of the song writing to that level on the next album it would have been really good. Pulkas, Kill2This, and Earthtone9 are from the UK and worth checking out, but I don't think they got much attention in the USA. I don't know they are 100% pure nu metal, or I just associate them because they were active at the same time of late '90's to early '00's. I spent way too long on this comment cos I just found out a friend from back in the day passed away yesterday from a long term illness. The video made me really nostalgic for the times we used to hang out at this time of year, listening to these bands into the early morning and wondering where we would be in 20 years. 🥲
