I have to agree. However, what I'd appreciate more is watching and hearing the process of the same procedure done on one that's actually seen a winter let alone 10+ and some salt and then tell me it's not a pain in the ass. This jeep is so clean.

Perfect Video. Much appreciated. I bought a pan last year as mine is rusted badly. Now I am confident I can get that done without some serious headache. Thanks so much for taking the time.

left a ton out, oil pan gasket is bolted to the engine so dropping the oil pan is not as easy when the rubber gasket is fused to the pan, it'll need to be chiseled out. And the exhaust doesn't drop as far when all your components are in place. Everything else was spot on
@Emuu-r6o9 ай бұрын
Did you have to disconnect transmission lines? Also, did you have to separate your exhaust pipe into its components so you could get it out - I can’t seem to move it quite enough to get at the bolts Thanks

Great job dude just started doing this too late at 7pm and have to buy new exhaust bolts in the morning because mine are too rusted but you answered my main question which was do i need to hold those bolts on the back side. Your attention detail is what’s surely lacking in other videos . Jeep doing your thing my dude. 👍

The inspection camera I bought at harbor freight came with a magnetic attachment which would be perfect for holding the locking nut into place when putting the exhaust back together

Removed steering linkage, track bar to slide pan out the front. Removed passenger side upper control arm to get to exhaust bolts easier. After dropping down the exhaust that opened everything up to get to all bolts and enough room to easily drop the oil pan down and slide it out the front. Watched many videos on this and yours did help piece them all together to do it my own way.

This video was very helpful and the method worked well for me. I had a hell of a time getting the exhaust back together with the manifolds, and now one side of the exhaust is leaking at the manifold, probably the passenger side. I’m gonna have to use an inspection camera to see if it’s not lined up, and maybe consider using some permatex copper to seal it

Transmission question on my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7L. How can i tell what transmission model i have? I dont have a metal plack on transmission side, no sticker on drivers door, under hood sticker isn't visible and a replacement hood from salvage yard. I did q Vin Decoder scan on NHSTA website and nothing on transmission. I believe it's the 45RFE or 5-45RFE. I know the 45RFE is a 4 speed AT and the 5-45RFE is a 5 Speed AT that has a electronic 5th gear. I just want to know the difference between the 45RFE vs 5-45RFE transmission. • Are the pans different size? • Do they hold different fluid capacities? • are their shift solenoids/packs different? • gaskets, pickup tube filters, screw in return cooler filter difference? Ive heard there is a punch stamped code on transmission but I'm having a hard time finding it?

I've got a question, the baffle plate you reffered to thats in-between engine oil pan and transmission. Is removing that going to drop any fluids? It looks like that plate/bracket is blocking oil pan bolts on my 02 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7L, VIN-N. I have a small leak on engine oil pan gasket and transmission pan gasket. Nothing dropping to the floor but it is burning to it. Im wanting to properly seal them up and clean them up properly.

I have a hole in the bottom of my oil pan from rusting through, however it doesn’t seem to be leaking from the gasket. Is the gasket reusable or should it be replaced too?
@MichaelBelcher-g7t2 жыл бұрын
If you're going to be doing a job like this, I'd recommend replacing it. It's only about a $50 gasket. Why go through all that work just to have it leak down the road and have to do all that work again?
@briansviolins93762 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelBelcher-g7t thanks for the reply, I did end up replacing it, that was the easy part, the hard part for me was reinstalling the y pipes to sit properly without leaking. I ended up making my own aluminum gasket for it to get it to seal up nice, finally got it nice after several attempts.

My last passenger side exaust bolt is stuck😬 the nut just keeps spinning around at the top and I don’t know how to stop it
@oscarquiroz15823 жыл бұрын
Mine is stuck/spinning the same way right now... How did you end up getting it off???
@jasonmayne13 жыл бұрын
@@oscarquiroz1582 I had to get a small die grinder with cutoff wheel up in there to cut that same bolt. Pain in the butt, but easy enough to cut through. Wear safety squints. Order a new OEM set of 4 off eBay since they are special elongated nuts with a helper tang. Goes on/stays on.
