I have the NJ transit comet cars from Rapido in HO. From what I was told, the reason why NJ Transit rolling stock is hard to find is because NJ doesn't license their name/branding that much anymore and/or is too expensive compared to other road names.

Nice! I never got any NJ Transit stuff in HO, but if I ever get back into HO one day I definitely will. And yeah, I think MTA is the same way. - Ryan

Well that was fun! Made my Monday morning! And you two gents looked like kids on Christmas morning which made it even more fun! Love that enthusiasm! A great score on your part, NJ Transit's stuff's hard to find as I understand it. When it comes out it disppears into NJ basements quickly never to be seen again for decades! The same thing happens in the Philly area with SEPTA models, SEPTA fans have a hard time finding things too. As Harry Henning from Henning's Trains in Lansdale PA put it "You just don't see them anywhere!" From what I've seen in videos and from my own observation NJ Transit trains mostly have five or six cars anyway on most runs so even if your F40 can only handle six that's OK. You can always double-head with your GP40 if you want to. Now THAT would be impressive! I wonder if your 614 can handle all eight? That might be interesting to find out. Love that golden glow from the inside of those Atlas cars, just lovely! Congratulations on that great aquisition!

Thanks Wayne, I enjoyed Ryan's enthusiasm on this nice, very long 21 inch set of cars. Now, if only we can convince ryan to spend more time on landscaping, modeling the trainboard. I like to tell stories with my modeling like small diorama. Grass, trees, hills, mountains, elevated runs, action accessories. We will see. Very happy you enjoy our work, Gary

@KeithMullineaux ryan especially likes nj transit and the 614 steam egine. We took ryan to see and ride the 614 greenbrier when he was 3 on its trip from hoboken to port jernis, ny and back. I filmed it which is posted on this channel and he has seen it many times. Im hoping he railfans the bombardier and acela train that pass thru metropark station in edison. Thanks for your comments. the only problem i had with these cars is that as big as the O scale is, they do not have the front bumpers with the electrical conections that come on the actual cars. Rapido did a fantastic job replicating the bumpers with connectors on their new HO versions as well as their N scale versions. I got rid of my entire set of O scale once i got the rapido versions. They are literally museum pieces and look fantastic on the display shelf as well!

And if I'm not mistaken, these cars are from the Atlas "Master" line, which is their top tier products. It would have been nice if they had the bumpers and connectors, but I'm still very happy with them. I'll check out the Rapido versions. Thanks for watching and commenting! - Ryan

Those are a updated version of the kinki sharyo passenger cars. Kinki sharyo sold these cars worldwide. Most railroads would update them.stll in service today in Mexico.

Julian, I didn't know that tidbit. As you noted from my earlier comment , we still see these cars almost daily, run on the amtrack northeast corridor running thru our town in nj . Thanks for watching and commenting. Much appreciated Gary

Are these Atlas cars and Lionel’s semi-scale version from ‘96/‘97 the only o-gauge NJT passenger cars out there? These are beautiful but too big for my layout and the Lionel cars really don’t have much detail at all
