I use v mount for my gimbal and handheld setup. for my gimbal set it up I use 1 battery to power my gimbal, monitor and camera. I can make it usually till the end of ceremony/beginning of reception with that set up. when I'm handheld I can shot the whole wedding day on 1 battery.

i got vb99 pro and it helped soooo much. yeah i dont have to worry about batteries for almost the whole shoot, but the best thing is how i can just press the whole rig against my chest, that combined with the added weight just makes for really smooth footage i didnt think i could get without cinesaddle or something similar...

Good video man. I’ve used Gold Mounts shooting for my Church but I haven’t got there yet with switching to V-Mounts for Weddings. I’m so heavily invested in Backup Batteries (16 in total) for Weddings I can’t see moving yet even if it’s for my Handheld Body Only. We’ll see I’m sure I switch at some point. I just love to see the advancement in tech & size at this point.
@WaywardNorth2 ай бұрын
Thanks so much man! I totally get being invested in so much gear already that its hard to make that switch. I have about 5 Sony Batteries so it was a relative easy decision for me. Obviously still useful when I want a completely stripped run and gun setup. The tools out there are just too good.

For your external monitor, you set it up to mirror what the back of your camera shows on the display? I’m thinking of doing this instead of using it as a regular external monitor.. although you lose real estate on the screen and have those black lines on the sides, I like that you can see all the settings and the most importantly the red border that tells you you’re recording.

Yeah I do with my Feelworld. With the Atomos, I utilize the video tools like waveforms, histograms, etc. It makes capturing the day easier especially with the V-mount rig.

Hey question here do you have any solutions for a mega battery? Where like I have a wedding one night in a town four hours away from my wedding the next day and I need to charge everything in my car as I’m driving is there like a solution for that you found that works?

I love these batteries. The only tough part is I’ve recently went back to gimbal (RS4) for my A cam set up at weddings and I’m struggling to find a way to use v mount with a gimbal. I wish I could power everything and not have a lot of cable management. Any tips?
@WaywardNorth2 ай бұрын
You could get an Arca Swiss quick release for the base of the RS4 and attach the mount this way? That would be awesome to have EVERYTHING powered. Monitor, camera, gimbal - the ultimate all in one solution!
