I bought my 05 l322 for 1500 fixed air suspension compressor and replaced air tank and replaced battery and viscus fan done that myself and fixed a few fuel leaks oh and front brakes were binding sorted that out as well just got a tow bar for free got to fit that next. I had plan on selling it but I've fallen in love with it ❤️❤️🤣🤣

Yea service history a must with these. And think that can reflect in price too, you can pick some up for around 4K but then might need 4K spending on it

Yeh I’ve seen some really cheap ones but like you say be prepared to spend a fortune on them!

Never use a main dealer. Good advice. Loads of decent independent LR specialists dotted around the UK 👍

what roof bars are they? bloody great cars but you do need to have deep pockets for repairs! Had mine a year and it stung me about 4k in repairs! that's with me doing some stuff and a local specialist the rest. Alternator, radiator, rear dampers, rear bushings, front lower arms etc. and now the blower has packed up! :( all things that happen with age but they have all come at once so it has got me questioning my choice! but then what do i replace it with! i want a bog square box on wheels with comfort and a good stereo and i really can't think of anything that for the same money!

I got them from eBay.. think they were around £70? pretty happy with them so far! Yes they can be pricey to run from what I hear, but I've been lucky so far and love the car! Mine had new turbos last year at a cost of £4500.. which I would not have loved taking the hit on!! its had a few parts replaced/upgraded for preventive reasons but absolutely everything works on mine! like you say, what would I replace it with?! Have had loads of vehicles that claim to be reliable which have been the biggest money pits ever! thanks a lot for watching! Mike :)

I've had 2 of these over the past 13 years. A 2004 2.9 and currently a 2011 3.9 Autobiography. The only big expense was a replacement gearbox at 130k miles on the 2004 car, cost £3k. But overall both are/were pretty unreliable cars. You will need a 'rainy day' fund and keep topping it up and they WILL go wrong at least once between MOT's/Servicing. Having said that they are fantastic vehicles, just keep them serviced, and expect to be best mates with your mechanic!

Even independent garages can be expensive though, with these cars you have to be able to do the work your self! My L322 was bought as a none runner the person I bought it from was given a bill for £3000 to fix it! So sold it cheap to me! I fixed it myself for £260. 😀

Had mine now for approx 4 years B.M.W. engine 04 no problems untill the drivers side cable broke Door handle that is . Got a new one off Ebay and fitted it myself Since that day the following has gone wrong Drivers door mirror not working internal light not working Central locking not working and the passanger mirror if you try to fold it in it starts to flap back and forth "GIVE ME SOME HOPE" They are a great car but in all honesty my wifes Honda C.R.V. is probably a much better built car Paid 1200 for it 4 years ago and not spent a penny on it To rub salt into the wound its 4x4 system is fantastic being auto control This mixed with the relatively light body means you just do not get stuck and now moving up to 180K miles refusing to brake on us Good up load by the way !!
