I have a deeper appreciation for the Snow Joes due to my own personal experience. Now the toy designs are loaded with great play features and this one delivers the goods. I still love that vehicles came with a driver too. Thanks for this awesome review.

I was so enamored by this toy I begged my mom to buy it for me that year and it was my favorite GI Joe snow vehicle. I loved the land mines but they'd keep getting lost in the snow at times

As much as I disliked the DiC cartoon because I feel like they made the Joes and Cobras, how do I put this.....wimpy. But the figures and vehicles wers cool. I still wish I had my Thunderclap and Skystorm. The Avalanche looks amazing Michael, it still looks brand new no yellowed plastic

I really didn’t like any of the post 90 Joe vehicles but this one is actually awesome. Glad you found another great piece to go with your collection. Loved seeing it played, err used in the snow too. Brought back lots of memories.

I saw this at a department store 1990, I was 14 and had to have it!! Sits on my shelf today, a well seasoned snow tank. That hover aircraft was key. A 1, 2 combo. Those driving handles remind me of the zero turn lawnmowers 😆

Loved this video! I had grown out of toys by the late 80's (my Joe years were 82-87), and did not have the Avalanche. After watching this wonderful video, I wish I'd had! Keep on keeping the action figure dream alive !! And thanks.

GI: Joe has so much potential. It is SO much more than ninjas. And the fact that Snake Eyes will soon be a speaking character with a face means the film makers don’t get what makes the character so cool. GI: Joe involves a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds fighting terrorism. Diversity fighting terrorists! Among others, these characters include a swash buckling Hispanic sailor and his smartass parrot, an African American, wise-cracking mountaineer and his oafish bestie who’s weapon of choice is a bazooka, an Asian American ex Hollywood stuntman who likes to do impressions (yes you read that right) and a badass Native American whose best friend is a Bald frick’in Eagle. Plus, GI: Joe’s adventures can be very Sci-Fi/Fantasy. They have traveled to parallel worlds where Cobra wins, fought giant see creatures, joined forces with ancient warrior spirits from Sparta and World War I, and have been tested by Egyptian Gods. Aliens, time travel, ghosts, mind control and psychic connections you name it. Captain America, The Winter Soldier, Falcon, Black Widow, Nick Fury, if you look at these characters, they are essentially GI: Joes. This franchise has so much potential and it has been frustrating seeing it going to waste for all these years. They are sitting on a goldmine! Someone at Paramount must realize this.

Hey Michael I just made a custom gi joe flag from wood and foam it has three big turrets and enough space to fit 3 sharks on the left and on the right I could fit 20 mobats if I had 20 mobats surprisingly the thing is only 4 feet long

Just yesterday I was playing around with my A.T.A.V. Rock Slide and Snow Job, and since we don't have snow here I had to improvise and made a snow diorama.

I recommend the MotU Blaster Hawk for so serious disc throwing action if you don’t have one already or ever tried one. This is good addition to the line btw. Still sorta goes with the theme of the line while still having some crazy stuff. I watched a year by year ranking on SEO Toys focused on figures and I really lost track of the line the last 3 years or so in the 90s and holy crap did it really kinda go off the rails. Weird comically large weapons that were brightly colored and reminded more of nerf guns and figures themselves were also brightly colored in like neon. It’s just weird. There are some standouts but man...mostly not good.

Love this thorough outdoor review of a 90s Joe gem! The Avalanche is that vehicle that belongs between 2 Snowcats and a couple o' Polar Battle Bears! The action shots are priceless and remind me of the days I played with my Joes in the snow!
