There were many signs of Chris being trans long before she came out, aswell as her coming out being a very long process of denial for her. She was raised both homophobic and transphobic, hated the lgbt+ community, but was seen having joined a site many years before her coming out in which she entered a forum dedicated to women, where she had admitted to wanting to be a woman herself. Around the time that she started exploring gender expression, she passionately denied any accusations of her being trans, calling herself a "Tomgirl" (the opposite of a tomboy, iow a cis man under feminine expression). After accepting that she was trans, online trolls told her parents, who did not support her. It was only after this that she fully transitioned.
